agree that its a sign of a broken society. The materialism of the rioters is amazing though. They dont try and rob banks but want what the rich kids have iPads, smart phones etc. Probably will sell it back to them. Raises an interesting moral dilemma - would you buy something you knew to be stolen?
wouldnt be a fan of whataboutery arguments - media, govt, banks do destroy societies but thats not an excuse for further criminal activity.

These groups seems largely unorganised and their “success” so far has been more down to a police reluctance to start cracking skulls than anything else. Last nights actions will have put the general law-abing public firmly on the side of police and political clearnace will now be given to them to start battering the fuck out of the rioters. Once they start fighting back, the rioters won’t be long dispersing, they only seem to be doing it at the moment because they are being given a free rein to do as they please.

same thing will happen in Ireland too. It already did when the Glasgow Celtic shirted mob used the orange cunt march to wreck the city. Cuts to education and other public services will lead to more disenfranchised youths. Ireland isnt as divided a society as the UK but still saving corrupt failed private institutions will have a huge consequence socially in the near future

The basic principle of western capitalism was to keep third world countries poor by rigging the rules of world trade against them.
The ideology of rampant greed and profit accepts, even advocates an increasing gap between rich and poor.
So you have an underclass of white English who believe they have no stake in the system, and a parallel immigrant underclass who believe they have even less stake in it.
Yet they are still indoctrinated with the individualistic get rich quick principles of Thatcherite capitalism as it has been the prevailing culture in Britain and the rest of the English speaking world through the media etc for the last 30/40 years,
