Walkd past a 7 quid for a pre-made sandwich in the apple green the other morning. Nuts, not too long ago you’d get a Chinese for close to that
Was that Applegreen itself or one of the other cafes there? Think they do a meal with a drink and crisps for that price. Or at least did…
Pre made in front stand near the counter, I was only paying for petrol.
That’s surely the meal deal so. This was it in June 2020.
I got them occassionally on long journeys until I puked violently after one of them.
Not surprised. Absolute muck.
In the heady days of the Chicken Fillet roll €5 deal with your crisps and Coke, the roll cost a euro or less and the Coke came FOC with the supplier grocery order.
A simple but effective ploy. Tell them it’s a DEAL DEAL DEAL and they will BUY BUY BUY. Toothpaste manufacturers wondered how they could sell more toothpaste. They wanted people to brush more often so brought in an expert to advise them. He told them not to bother spending on a marketing campaign that they just needed to make the hole in the tube bigger.
This is your greatest post. Ever.
The best value toothpaste is always on the bottom shelf of a supermarket.
Had to bring the mother up to santry into the clinic there for an injection today. I went to the canteen for a bit of grub while waiting for her. Only €9 . Now it wasn’t your greenhills match day carvery but twas grand. Parking only cost €2.50 as well. Not bad for Dublin in fairness
Not Ireland, Malaga airport.
Similarly they got the adverts to show toothpaste poured over the full length of the brush, when really you only need a quarter of that.
Alka seltzer doubled sales over night by getting the guy in the add to drop in two tablets to the water, instead of one
Mugged off in grand style
Remember this when you’re paying through the nose for a hotel in Ireland.
I always thought the split shift system of hotels - work mornings and evenings with afternoon off was particularly shit
I always leave a few quid in the hotel room, for whatever little it is worth. Poor fcukers.
A lot of pub and restaurant staff would do the same
The decent hotels will pool the tips among all the staff and apportion them based on hours worked . Places like Killarney there’d be serious tips built up to share .
