think regulation came in recently which limit their speed but before it was a free for all
I passed two girls I’d say no more than 12 on one last night doing about 30km an hour…both of them on one scooter…both on phones…on main rural country road at about 9.45 pm…no high Vis…I stayed well back and one of them who was in control of it started waving me past

New laws prohibit carrying a second person on an e-scooter. Then again we are a great country for making laws but we are hopeless at enforcing them.

I was in Limerick yesterday. The blasted things are everywhere.
My mother is liable to kill one of them pulling out of her driveway some day. They just motor along. It’s crazy.

I heard this morning they were bothers but I have since heard two friends.
My friend son is best friends with the first boy that died.
Still utterly horrific God love the families.
We have friends who’s only two daughters were killed in a car crash just before Christmas a few years back.
How they keep functioning is beyond me.

Absolutely.
I had to check the cameras in work today for footage or see if they picked up a time of the accident. Local reports were about 1 hour off unit for the time of the crash. It happened just before 2.05. Thankfully the cameras only picked it up way off in the distance so you couldn’t make out the aftermath.
Even from that you wouldn’t be right from it after knowing the outcome.

Not wishing to speculate but it looks from the pictures on the RTE news that they literally hit the bus head on. Also the bus is on the correct side of the road.
It looked on the camera (again way off) that the bus hit them from behind.
Could be that alright.
