Romania messed up as well drawing in Kazakhstan. The Danes were 3-0 down the other night and got it back to 3-2 against the Poles. They brought on a guy called Yousef Paulson plays for RB Leigzig, scored a goal and nearly turned the game. Good player.

Strachan is getting slaughtered for his team selection over this double header - didn’t start Griffiths upfront in either game and left out Oliver Burke tonight who’s making a positive impression in the Bundesliga. It’s a shit group though and that was Slovakia’s first points so far.
Strachan is an awful manager, a real negative, clueless, bitter little ginger tosspot.

A very good display last night, he was the best player on the pitch, got on plenty of the ball and made some great passes. He bullied Strootman and Wijnaldum physically.
I am counterbalancing the fact that any one could have managed Celtic to reach a quarter final up the the 90s .
Strachan failed to win a proper knockout game in Europe with Celtic.
I was half watching it , making dinner etc but from what I saw he did really well. Much better than in the european cup
So will Strachan be sacked/resign? Looking at their group and the players they have a 2nd place finish should be well doable, if not first given England being a bit of a mess.
Difficult to see if they will do it with England just up in month’s time. Hard to start interviewing candidates and get a man in before then and having Mark McGhee or Stuart McCall in charge for that game would be a scary proposition.

MON’s teams were very unlucky in Europe. They regularly went out and went at the big guns in Europe, got some big results and narrowly missed out on CL last 16 on two occassions.
Strachan’s teams were steeped in luck, he had Boruc perform miracles in goal for him.
O’Neill also got Celtic to a European final.
He got them to a European final there same as Walter Smith with Rangers , Roy Hodgson with Fulham and Steve McClaren with Middlesbrough . Intertoto stuff kid.
