Road to Superbowl XLV

I think the Lions overpaid for Burleson

cluaindiuic, Flano, Gman et al, 'twould be good if you bhoys kept this thread updated for trades and news in the off season. I struggle to find the motivation to log onto nfl.com during the 36 months or so between the end of one season and the beginning of the next one.

Free agency is a great time of the year. Then the Draft just comes along and ignites the free agency market again. Booya.

Kansas just signed Thomas Jones.
Vikings are meeting with Tomlinson.
Browns have released Derek Anderson.

TO is talking with cincy now too, if it hasnt been mentioned elsewhere. chad and TO, if they dont catch the football with hteir hands, their mouths would be big enough to do it.

Ochouno and Ochocinco. Earplugs please.

So Iā€™m gonna stick with the Chargers for another few months anyway. A few questions:

  1. I presume Sproles isnā€™t big enough to take over the first RB position?
  2. If they need to bring someone in will that be something they target in the Draft or in a transfer type thing?
  3. Do teams draft players with the expectation that theyā€™ll hardly feature as a rookie or are first round picks (and close to it) expected to be starters in their rookie season?

Sproles wonā€™t be an every down RB, thatā€™s for sure.

As regards your other two questions, you canā€™t say either way.

They didnā€™t agree a contract with Sproles so he is available.
On March 4, 2010 it was reported that the Chargers will tender Sproles a contract, which will be worth approximately $7.3 million. Another team would have to give the Chargers first- and third-round draft picks if they signed Sproles.

Apparently they are looking to pick up CJ Spiller in the draft.

Spiller??? Theyā€™ll hardly get him. Heā€™s the top rated RB in the draft.

Itā€™s fuckin ochenta y cinco anyway. Chad was good value on nfl network during all star week all the same.

Child pleaseā€¦

Chad canā€™t count to eighty Woody. Eight Five just allows him to understand.

Thereā€™s a thing on NFL.com to vote for the best draft picks ever. How do you separate these two boyos

Leaning toward Riceā€¦

Ok hereā€™s a stupid question?

Werenā€™t 99% of the NFL players drafted at some stage? So is this not just a question of who was the best player ever?

Youā€™re right there Rocko. When Iā€™ve been voting I havenā€™t necessarily being voting for the best player but the player who was best value. For example, Peyton Manning v Tom Brady. Manning was the First overall pick, Brady was 199th overall. Brady wins that one. In the above example I went for Montana because of where he was picked, 82nd overall v Rice 16th overall. Most of the voters on NFL.com arenā€™t voting my way at all though.

Baker and Watson have signed for the Seattle and Cleveland respectively. Fuck sake Billy boy. What TEā€™s are left now.

ah have faith. Watson wasnt exactly setting the world alight. good blocker, but needs to be more than that. had potential, but never really fulfilled it. was it him or Daniel Graham that got that block on an interception v Denver in playoffs a couple of years back? think it was watson. some play.
