I’m attending Hamilton next week in the Bord Gáis Theatre (I couldn’t find the musicals thread). Any recommendations pre-show bite to eat in the environs?

Mushashi hogan place is my go to for the Bord Gais. Close enough and if you are a cager you will get free parking

Just out from The Ferryman in the Gaeity.Really enjoyed it,possibly a tad too long.Nasty day weather wise in the capital.

Went to see a musical about 9/11 planes landing in some town up in Newfoundland. Really enjoyed it.
Pleasantly surprised by Dr Strangelove in the Bord Gáis tonight. I hadn’t seen the film in years but some very good Laugh Out Loud (Lol) moments. Coogan is a powerhouse in it playing 4 different characters - a real Tour de France. Some nice nods to modern day war mongering and decisions being made in the White House. A solid 8/10.

Got a late call up to go to the Ferryman in the Gaeity tonight. A play set in the arsehole of Derry (cc @glenshane) at the height of the the hunger strikes. Involves the discovery of a body of one of the disappeared and its impact on the wider family. Long (3 hours plus interval) but it was very well paced and didn’t really drag at least until Act 3. Funny in parts with some great turns of phrase but ultimately a bit heavy handed and had a lot of theatrical tropes ( the local simpleton for example ). Parts of it looked borrowed from the Plough and the Stars and had a definite bang of O’Casey.
