Sligo have topped the Premier Division table since April and currently have 39 points, one ahead of Drogheda United with two games in hand. Although he is not really a new player, Pat Sullivan became Stephen Kenny’s first summer signing on June 5th. His youth career began at Leicester Celtic and he played for the Shamrock Rovers Schoolboys team, under 15, 16, 17 and 18. Rovers hadn’t the underage set up that the club now has and he moved to UCD in 2002.[/size][/font]

Sullivan attended the college on a sports scholarship and studied Sports Management whilst playing LOI football, scoring his first ever goal on September 20th, the winner in UCD’s 1-0 victory over St. Pat’s. Tony McDonnell split the Saints defence with a promptly taken free kick to the teenager on the left wing, who controlled the ball well before drilling a shot from 14 yards past James Gallagher.[/size][/font]

Sully moved to right back because of injuries in the squad and it proved to be his best position. UCD were relegated in 2003 and promoted from the First Division in second place a year later. haven’t seen rovers lately but saw them a few times earlier on in season…Killian brennan has been a disgrace…he’s got roasted but yet starts shouting at all the other players on his team like its their fault…seems to have a serious attitude problem…how kenny ever thought himself and dennehy on the one wing would work is strange…they both just drift wherever the ball is…also i can’t understand why Daryll kavanagh isn’t starting more often…think he’s a super player…

They have recovered very well, with the fans really taking control of the club and now like Cork and Rovers are in a good state on and off the pitch.
Long way to go yet in the league, i believe Pats will fall aprt starting with a defeat in Cork tonight and it will be left to the 2 Rovers to battle it out…
Sligo seem to have the more settled squad at this stage however, and as its been 3 years in the making ( Paul Cook’s team mainly) i think Barraclough will guide them to the title this year, i for one couldnt begrudge them it
