Didi Hamann summed it up best when comparing Keane to Veira on RTE one night. Veira was a far superior player and harder to play against but Keane was more important for his team.
he’s done one interview, that I can recall. A charity gig. People are jumping out of their skin after it.
If Matt Holland or Mark Kinsella gave that interview, people would have shrugged their shoulders and moved on.
Keane is still held to different standards, like all the greats.

Vieira was immense as well. I think his importance to Arsenal is understated.

Keane will lie low for the next two and a half months and then lob in a hand grenade against Mick McCarthy around the time of the Eire-Denmark game in November

If it’s just afterwards it will depend on the outcome

Anyone who saw Keane play in his pomp could see he controlled the whole tempo of games, especially at old Trafford…only Great players can do that.
I also think the context of walters family comment was missed … He basically said everyone has their issues … Probably a reference to his own father passing away a few weeks ago…
