iv never watched the Premiership and agree its a waste but in your original post you lamented RTE not showing some Cricket match, the cycling and the Irish soccer teams in Europe who only attract a couple of thousand to their home games.
I would like the Captains prize at Limerick Golf club televised but at the end of the day RTE need to balance the books.

RTE used to have extensive coverage of the Tour De France. The viewing figures obviously weren’t stacking up, or otherwise they would surely have continued with it?

But it doesn’t even appear to balance the books HBV! They spent huge money on it yet the viewing figures are really poor. Don’t think its too much to ask them to cover the cycling, cricket etc as cost would be minimal and they serve a public interest.

therefore no GGA league games should be shown:clap:
I’v said this before…More people will attend Tipp v KK on the 6th than will attend Scumrock Rovers entire Home Programme of games this year.
What a small, minority sport LOI is.
if Tipp and KK threw open the doors they would get more in attendance at their training sessions than Shamrock are getting for home league games.

thats a one off- it will get the same crowd as Ireland vs italy
rugby fills archbishop park more than ruralhobbysports these days
Well they were offered cricket for free and cycling rights for virtually nothing. They pay millions (maybe tens of millions) to show EPL so cost of covering it versus cycling and cricket isn’t comparable.
Thats a good point actually. You would have to take into account the production costs for the likes of the cricket though.
Wouldn’t be overly taxing I would say.
