Jackson has missed a trick not getting an ex as a character witness. They’d be the ones who would know what he’s like in the bedroom. Telling he couldn’t get one of them in.
No. He is getting himself involved in something which he isn’t even accused of.

The terminology of how Jackson, Olding and McIlroy described what went on is very interesting.
Jackson: “a lot of spit roasting”
Olding: “top shaggers” and “a bit of spit roasting”
McIlroy: claims he “pumped a girl. Roasted her”.
Yet they all deny any vaginal sex went on.
Did McIlroy have vaginal sex with the girl he claims he “pumped” on the Tuesday night, one wonders? Was he asked about this, just for clarification of what “pumped” means?

Well, he is accused of exposure and it is part of the same trial as the others, so he is involved. like it or not.
Yeah it’s very strange. He didn’t have to put himself in the story to cover for them. Could have said he walked in looking for Jackson clothed and she got upset etc. he didn’t have to put himself into a rape allegation. Exposure would be a slap on the wrist at worst and he could have explained it away. Why offer himself on a rape charge - nobody is that good friends

He may have had a ‘story’ which was prepared for the cops before all the charges got sorted out.
But surely once he was charged with exposure only, then he should have withdrew his statement. It didn’t impact the others.
But still he appears to be want to be seen in a positive light regarding masculinity, so much so that he risks muddying all the waters unnecessarily by doing so. That is what I would call a loose canon.
He was with the ex at the time this happened. I doubt she feels she owes him anything.
To make her look like she was up for it, consenting to it with everyone - save the lad’s skin, he thought he was helping with them, discredit her.

Right now the defence, the prosecution and the police find themselves in a mire. None of them can blink, none of them can afford to agree or disagree on what happened because none of them are presenting a clear credible version.
Patricia Smyth must be wondering what possible direction she can give to the jury. Brown paper soaked in vinegar is probably all she can come up with.
An ex though. Maybe they know his form.

A girl alleges rape. So he says he had sex with her too ?
It’s not just the girls story he contradicts though, he is saying he was getting a blowjob while Jackson was fingering her but Jackson says he has no memory of McIlroy being in the room. Surely if you can remember some of the minor details that Jackson can recall you would remember your mate getting a blowjob while you fingered a girl. I think he also said he went down naked to ask Harrison for condoms but Harrison has no memory of that.

Have you a better explanation? The girl’s statement wouldn’t have been put to him either before he gave his initial interview… maybe as he didn’t know what he was accused of, he went with this? I dunno, but it’s not the truth anyway.
Well the guy who a sober independent witness 100% saw having sex with the victim denies having sex with her.
The prosecution said that McIlroy was charged with exposure and not rape and that had the alleged victim wanted to cause him harm she would have claimed he made her perform a sex act on him.
“If she wanted to cause you harm and had been involved in sexual activity with you she would simply have to say she was made to do things sexually,” said Mr Hedworth.
Cops never swabbed her to check

Yeah, terrible on them - but if it did happen and the complainant is lying - it also makes Jackson and Harrison a liar…so who do you think is telling the truth, because they cannot all be. And if McIlroy was downstairs to lock the front door with Paddy - how did the girl manage to get back in to get her phone?
