Guys, can we not just agree that most of us actually wanted Ireland to win, but it became obvious after about 10 minutes that we were going to be hockeyed

People can point to basic errors but in reality NZ put so much pressure on Ireland that they couldnāt play their game.
Bar Sextons kick for touch most other turnovers were down to ferocious & excellent tackling from NZ.
Coach Joe can rightly take heat on selections but no one can argue he is leaving Irish rugby in a better position than he got it in.
Results show that.

I think I was mocking him online earlier on but a couple of weeks ago I toyed with the idea of going to Japan for a week to include the quarter-final of this competition and because I would like to go to Japan in general, although I abandoned that idea after about ten minutes
I feel sure that had I been situated in the seats beside where he walked down the steps in the final minute of todayās game I would have shaken his hand and offered words of consolation to him

In all fairness itās important to be gracious at times like this. Schmidt is heralded as the best Ireland rugby coach of all time.
His knockout Rugby World Cup record is as good as any Ireland coach.

It was an unbelievable performance from NZ. Made no more than 2 or 3 mistakes. Absolutely clinical. Mounga did what I knew he could, the indirect pressure that puts on the rest of the defence knowing Barrett is lurking cannot be underestimated
