Rugby World Cup 2023/ Crochet & Knitting chit chat

Ah Christ I didnā€™t even realise weā€™re playing Scotland after SA. That makes Ger Gilroy look like even more of a fool for suggesting that we put out the second string team against SA.

As a lapsed rugby watcher it is pretty confusing trying to figure things out to be fair.

Itā€™s like the time Carbery kicked the ball into the touch vs the Japs

Lapsed rugby watcher but committed to posting on threads about it.

They always have. Theyā€™re very good.

Pete Oā€™Mahony at home picking rhubarb, reckon they all got a bit of time off.

Yeah was surprised at thatā€¦a very vocal poster with a lot of knowledge of the game. Didnā€™t strike me as a lapsed watcherā€¦

An element of playing to the gallery maybe

There are a lot of lads really excited about the RWC but struggling to know how to play it on TFK. Afraid of their life they might get lumped in with us as ā€œrubby menā€ which might damage their true Gael credentials come summer timeā€¦ Anyway I hope they enjoy it

You sing that one lovely. Every day, you sing it.
And just lovely you have it.

Repetition really is standing to you.

Itā€™s almost like you didnā€™t remember

You flatter me, but I suppose when even my harshest critic gives that a like then I have to accept it.

I was a semi regular attendee at professional games in Ravenhill and England up to 4 years ago, but bar the occasional dander down to the local club for an AIL match now I wouldnā€™t bother much at all. The last time I was in Ravenhill the darling of the East Terrace was AB star Charles Piutau, Iā€™m told that he is now Tonga star Charles Piutau.

Iā€™d say Iā€™m the type of watcher the rugby unions are desperate to get back to try and make the sport commercially viable again, I look forward to their charm offensive in the weeks ahead.

Jeepers, so try hard. From content to tone. ā€œIā€™m toldā€ - nobody cares.

2015 patter from around here. I see @dodgy_keeper is also hanging around. If you want some picks for your Fantasy team, just ask mate. Hereā€™s a start anyway

I would say all of the South sea Island teams will be uncompromising to say the least. Fiji and Samoa could beat anyone. Just a question of squad depth.

They are the thinnest skinned group on the board.

Iā€™d happily joust away with someone who brings something original. Thomas Brady could bring it from time to time and perhaps with his absence some lads feel a bit more confident to come forward.

We should all post our rubby men credentials so we know where we stand prior to next week

  1. Connacht season ticketer for 5 years
  2. Was there (polluted drunk) for Chicargo win over the Kiwis and the drop goal in Paris

That makes me a top 5 rubby tfker.

Itā€™s great those Pacific island lads can go play for their countries again and it was pure bullshit that NZ were poaching so many of them.

I boxed the ears off Rabbit Oā€™Connor once @dancarter
