Rugby World Cup 2023/ Crochet & Knitting chit chat

Very few of them really this time out?

Goes both ways as I said. Hogg and AWJ both retired pre World Cup. Australia blooded a young team in the RWC, dropping stalwarts.

O’Gara did something similar iirc.

I don’t recall that.

I do remember a lot of people annoyed BOD retired in 14 before the World Cup in 15.

It’s not at all. Soccer at the Olympics is the same sport as mainstream soccer except that it is limited to u-23s.

It’s the exact same it just doesn’t suit the narrative.

Fellas on here are the worst.

If you don’t like a sport get over it. Everyone has different interests.

It’s not the same at all. Don’t be silly.

It’s the very same.

You’re all worked up now. Worry more about Austin gleeson packing up hurling with Waterford that constantly trying to dig at rugby.

Look pal. You started off with a ridiculous statement that the Six Nations is a bigger event than the RWC. Now you have French captain DuPont skipping the Six Nations to play a toy version of rugby.

This is the same DuPont who played in the RWC with a broken cheekbone because the event was so important.

You may well think that the Six Nations is bigger than the RWC but as sure as there is shite in a goose French rugby captain Antoine DuPont doesn’t.

Lolz. Swimming and cycling are integral to the olympics. 7s rugby will be given the same airtime as shite like dressage, ie 5 seconds at the end of the daily report.

The six nations is a much bigger competition than the rugby World Cup.

The rugby World Cup only started in 1986.

Yep 5 Nations is harder won. No southern hemisphere team has won it whilst one northern hemisphere team has won the World Cup.

Antoine DuPont disagrees, but, hey, you are entitled to your opinion too.

How?

The tri nations was a grand comp but
Nobody cares since Argentina joined.

The bledisloe cup would be much bigger.

Roy Keane skipped the World Cup so he could watch Fawlty Towers and walk his dog.

I recall a Rugby Sevens World Cup which was played at Murrayfield on the weekend of April 17th/18th, 1993. ITV went big on broadcasting it. Ireland had an unexpected victory over some team or other in the quarter-finals (it might have been New Zealand) and looked like getting to the final until they were beaten by a last gasp score by Australia (I think). I listened to the end of this game on a transistor radio on the upper deck of the Cusack stand during the NFL semi-final between Donegal and Clare, RTE had a commentator there, who must have been Tom Rooney. Anyway England ended up winning the tournament and I don’t recall another such tournament being held.

Did you have to Google those two sports? Or is it Ask Jeeves down your way still?

Why do you keep comparing his decision to go play at the pinnacle of one sport (Rugby Sevens) to another?

I don’t understand how this is so confusing for you lot. You might not be familiar with it in sporting terms but the leisure activity governed by the GGA has people referenced as “dual code stars” ( :grinning: @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy).

The buckos rob the South African RFU offices and decide to leave the Web Ellis behind.

I think the point at which you generally hit the limits of your own idiocy is when you have to whistle up for support from @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy
