Namibia beat Ireland in both test matches when Ireland went there in 1991. Ireland’s World Cup wins of 2003 & 2007 have tied up the head to head record at 2-2.

A full month on, I’m delighted someone has finally addressed this.

I have the programme from this match, although I was not at it.

A great day.

Here’s a World Cup distant memory.

Ireland imagining they were players at this competition.

If I remember correctly the kick off of the England-New Zealand semi-final was moved forward to 2pm to avoid a clash with the Dublin-Louth game in Navan, which started at 5:30pm.

Zinzan Brooke’s drop goal in that game was arguably the greatest of all time, it was certainly the most nonchalant yet audacious of all time.

Zinzan’s drop goal was the real highlight of that semi final.

Amazing . By all accounts he played a bit of Gaelic football with Marist along with Bernie McCshill .

Zinzan and Nobody were forwards who could score with the boot at this level . Any more ?

At International level though ?

In rugby league, Castleford’s Leigh Crooks was a place kicking specialist despite being a prop forward

He dominated the 1994 Regal Trophy final if I remember rightly
