Did the Chinese abstain tonight or have they voted yet?
I think there is little doubt that in general Ukrainian resistance has been better than expected and the Russians’ successes are seen as having been below expectations.
I have a terrible fear for the next few days however.
I believe that ultimately the west will sustain a deep and very long lasting internal moral shame for not intervening here.

The Ukranians are digging in. This has the potential to get embarrassing for Putin if they can hold out for even a couple of weeks. The worry then is the more isolated he becomes the more desperate he’s likely to become
