FAO Sid, my understanding is that Laz is being facetious here.
The Russians will be bombing away to their hearts content and won’t even know the Paddy’s are around fishing, that’s if the Russian subs in the area haven’t dragged them half way back to the Black Sea. There’s a fella in Cork heading down next week in a Yacht FFS, a bow wave from one of the Russian ships will send him to Davy Jones’ locker.

This has shades of the D Day landing. The alickadoos in their pleasure boats will be called upon in Schull and Skibbereen to support our national interests.
That was Dunkirk. There were no pleasure craft involved in DDay.
