In the last few days Trump has suddenly performed a volte face and started calling for “bombing the shit” out of Russia. I’ve no doubt all this itself is part of the Putinist information warfare game to try and bolster support for Putin inside Russia itself - and also to try and split western support for Ukraine. None of what Trump says has to make any sense, no more than anything the Russians say has to make any sense.
At least nationism hasnt taking to much of a hokd here thankfully. But there has been some funky carry on around the world in the last 10 years. The weaponization of social media has worked wonders for them.

Exactly.
Trump was appealing to the middle ground & undecided with the tough guy talk ref Putin.
It was suiting Putin down to the ground.
The only issue perhaps was Trump continually poking the Chinese in relation to COVID.
I’m sure the Chinese were asking Putin to put on leash on him.
In reality, would Macron have been under pressure if this Invasion hadn’t taken place? He is seeing huge boosts in the polls.
Macron winning again probably strengthens the European collective more now than a Right of centre winner ever would have.
A technical malfunction. I wouldn’t be that shocked.

This is a superb listen… it explores the obvious parallels between the treatment of post ww1 germany and post cold war russia. It basically lays out putin and russias path… it was recorded last November, and its focus isn’t really on russia.

Macron was going to win regardless who is opposing him in France? Le Pen could get to the final vote but reasonable french would vote macron as Le Pen is an outrigjt loon
