Russia Vs Ukraine (Part 1)

id broadly agree with that
Im not sure of the exact demographics of both the " oblasts" but if they are vast majority Russian leaning it’s possible Kiev mightnt really be too bothered about loosing them really-
The problem would be if there is any remaining ethnic tension in Donyetsk or the other one, but there dosent really appear to be- like the Ukranians who live there , are they just shrugging their shoulders and saying fine or are the Russian military embarking on a crusade of ethnic cleansing and genocide like in Western Bosnia when Mladic et al decide to redraw a map when sponsored by Milosevic and the JNA… that seems unlikely and much like Crimea it appears to me that this area is broadly Russian leaning, Kiev know it and probaby dont really care about loosing it, in fact loosing it might even strengthen the Ukranian state

Perhaps Hitler will stop after taking the Sudetenland?

Perhaps he won’t stop.

Cut the gas pipe and there’ll be all sorts of frozen assets.

If you keep laundering red, it goes pink.

He knows there is no appetite for war in Ukraine, unless he makes a large scale invasion, and there is no appetite for war in the West. He’ll nibble away at Ukraine and build a land bridge to Crimea, consolidating Russian control of the Black Sea.

Wait til there’s fracking in the local park.

great article here

Why would he stop at a so called “land bridge” to Crimea? That doesn’t give him much strategic gain. He can cut off the Sea of Azov as it is, and Crimea already has a bridge to Russia.

Doing that still leaves the rest of Ukraine. Ukraine as a whole is his “problem”.

Edgy

this bit really stands out…
Its pretty impressive writing tbf

By taking their fates in their own hands and declaring their independence from a fascist US-imposed ruling clique, the citizens of Donetsk and Lugansk have shown Western Europeans what they need to do, namely liberate themselves from the fascist parasites that are running their nations.

If the people of Donetsk and Lugansk can do this, there is no reason why the Catalans can’t, or the Saxons in Germany, the Frisians in the Netherlands and the South Tyroleans in Italy. As a matter of fact, each and every European region should kick out their rulers. To hell with the EU, to hell with the Brussels Eurocrats, to hell with NATO, to hell with US military occupation.

The people of Lugansk and Donetsk have shown their fellow Europeans what can be done and how to do it. Instead of a Great Reset such as advocated by WEF-Crime Boss Schwab, or a US-led "New World Order,” what Europe needs is a federated state under Russian leadership and protection.

its a very enjoyable website - i havent been on it in a while until today but they had some wonderful takes on Chechyna and how the Russian defeat during the first Chechen war was a Western lie.
Actually has anyone here read “one soldier’s war” by Andriy Babchecko, its brilliant

there was a pub called Pravda i used to go into around 2007 in dublin-
