No. Eastern Ukraine would be a demilitarised zone monitored by whoever, it would still be Ukrainian territoryā¦but maybe the people living there could have dual nationality. It would put an end to the conflict. Maybe Ukraine could ensure political representation, equal pension, civil and language rights etc for the people who live there.

Putin signed a peace agreement in 2014 when he could have taken Donbas. He has always wanted a peaceful outcome in the region but the US pushed Ukraine to war.

All the Putin sponsored upset & violence in Eastern Ukraine made it exceptionally difficult for Ukraine to draw support from the EU & NATO at a time the majority of the population wanted to join both.

The reason they couldnāt crush Russian sponsored Rebellion was their army was basically a Russia spec standard.
