The Virgin gig is probably like an ambitious junior club in broadcasting terms. If they call it Intermediate A then it might placate Tubs ego. The double jobbing part on 95FM is like a lad who’s regraded to play league for the 1st and 2nd teams. 95FM is definitely Junior B.

Ryan Tubridy has agreed a modest salary by his standards as he kicks off a new career on Virgin Radio in the UK next Tuesday morning.
The former Late Late Show host, who once earned €500,000 a year with RTÉ, is said by one well-placed source to be starting off on an annual pay packet ranging from £50,000 (€57,550) to £80,000 (€92,000) with Virgin.
