Ryder Cup 2014 - Gleneagles, Scotland

I will be shouting for Europe but too have reservations about McGinley. How a Ryder Cup behemoth like Colin Montgomerie could be overlooked for the captaincy in his native land is beyond me

The facts are:

Padraig Harrington was a slightly above average European Tour player.

Golf guru Bob Torrance totally devoted himself to improving Harringtonā€™s game.

Harrington, quite unbelievably, won 3 majors in quick succession thanks to Bob.

Harrington fired Torrance.

Torrance was distraught.

Bob Torrance died.

Olly wonā€™t do his job for a cause he has giving blood for because of PH, which implicitly is blaming Paul McGinley. The absolute biscuit however is somehow implying that PH caused the death of Bob Torrance !!

The 2002 Ryder Cup hero deserves a break here lads, especially from his own countrymen.[/QUOTE]

Are you implying that someone bled to win a golf match? Sounds like he isnā€™t doing it right.

So what you are saying if Bob Torrance minded his own business and didnā€™t try and improve an average player heā€™d be still alive?

Poor Bob Torrance. Terrible to see a man of his stature in the game seemingly die of a broken heart long before his time.

He was invited to help by Harrington, who then dismissively discarded him like you would a gone off scone (with raspberries in it). And this after Torranceā€™s sterling work was the primary reason for Harringtonā€™s success. The rest is history. Harringtonā€™s game and Torranceā€™s health both went into terminal decline. I donā€™t expect Sam Torrance to forgive and forget here.

So if Harringtonā€™s game suddenly comes back to him should we expect to see Bob again, eating a raspberry scone perhaps?

No, he passed away. Itā€™s not funny to poke fun at the deceased, @Scrunchie. Please show some respect.

Iā€™m still absolutely baffled by the Harrington vice-captain selection. Thereā€™s possibly no more divisive character on tour:

  1. Bitter feud with Olazabal, as mentioned by @Manuel Zelaya already.

  2. Simmering ongoing tensions with Garcia that originated in Olazabal row.

  3. Disliked by both McDowell and McIlroy. Harrington constantly spoke in public about their national allegiances for the Olympics and went so far as to state they should play for GB to allow ā€œIrishā€ players to play for Ireland. McDowell in response said Harringtonā€™s utterances were completely unhelpful in what was an already delicate matter.

  4. Despised by Sam Torrance for obvious reasons.

  5. Hated by Thomas Bjorn since their rookie days for unspecified reasons.

Have any more members of the team issues with Harrington?

Pubeheadā€™s dislike of Harrington is probably his only admirable quality.

Whoā€™s worse Harrington or Pubehead?

Iā€™d nearly go with Harrington, an awful cunt.

That squeaky-voiced cunt Harrington is a qualified chartered accountant.

Thatā€™s all Iā€™ll say.

What is it about Irish golfers and squeaky voices, by the way? Do they all walk around carrying dildos up their arses or what*?

*With the honourable exception of Graeme McDowell.

Was he not cremated ?

Harrington and McGinley seemingly both played underage for Ballyboden St Endaā€™s. At this rate Conal Keaney could get a call up yet.

If I was @Bisto Iā€™d keep my phone on.

that was an internet curve ball palā€¦I never played for them ,played for their neighboursā€¦and Iā€™ve been to croke park twice in last 3 yearsā€¦i was just trying to re invent myself on this forumā€¦

Well St. Jude is the patron saint of lost causes, so thatā€™s quite appropriate for you.

McGinley says heā€™ll be citing Dublinā€™s defeat last weekend when speaking to his team about favourites having to be on their guard. The lad is an idiot.

Thats fucking hilarious. Iā€™d say theyā€™ll be laughing their holes off at him.

McGinley must be confident that the combined efforts of the likes of himself, Mickey Harte and Jose Maria Olazabal can ensure Victor Dubuisson doesnā€™t come unstuck like the Dublin defence last Sunday.

Would Gallacher be the Eoghan O Gara of the narrative? Westwood the MDM? Pubehead would be Clucko.
