Ryder Cup 2014 - Gleneagles, Scotland

Fuck Tom and his crowd of bottlers, Europe will walk this.

Current odds?

Surely Westwood should have been the one to miss out rather than Donald once he was intent on bringing a Jocko. Westwood is an atrocious chipper and putter and will upset his partner in foursomes in particular. Donald is the ideal team player in absolutely every single respect. McGinley is an absolute fool.

This whole story really has knocked you back on your hole. Be strong, for the love of Europe be fucking strong.

I donā€™t get the team Europe bashing at all. This year itā€™s been led by a man who said his biggest sporting thrill was to play Football for his county.
Iā€™m normally ambivalent enough towards who wins this thing but this year all good Irish men will be supporting Paul and his troops all the way.

Paul McGinley is a creep.

Europe team (v USA):
Current Form Ryder Cup Form
Rory McIlroy 9/10 6/10
Henrik Stenson 8/10 7/10
Victor Dubuisson 6/10 Rookie
Jamie Donaldson 7/10 Rookie
Sergio Garcia 8/10 8/10
Thomas Bjorn 6/10 6/10
Justin Rose 8/10 9/10
Martin Kaymer 8/10 8/10
Graeme McDowell 7/10 8/10
Ian Poulter 6/10 10/10
Stephen Gallacher 8/10 Rookie
Lee Westwood 6/10 8/10

Average enough European team in fairness, even the lads in good form have average Ryder Cup form.

Hard to see past an American win here.

Team USAā€™s wild cards are

Bradley, Mahan & Simpson

Tom Watson has got it spot on with those wild card picks.

+1. Brilliant selections.

When did McGinley play football for his county?

Stephen Gallacher has a 0-7 record in singles matchplay.

McGinley OUT.

How many vice-captains does McGimpley have now? Harrington, Jimenez and Olazabal were added today.

The hopes of a whole continent now rest on Jose Maria.

He is the only one who can rescue this shambles.

Five vice captains. This backroom team is nearly as big as what Sir Clive brought to New Zealand with the British Lions in 2005.

Severiano Ballesteros will be turning in his grave.

Harrington and Olazabel had a big falling out at the Seve Trophy 10 years ago when Olazabel took umbrage at comments Harrington made about him putting back down some spike marks on a green. Garcia sided with Olazabel at the time and there was still plenty of bad blood and needle between Garcia and Harrington at Caronustie in 2007 and at the USPGA in Oakland Hills in 2008. Harrington had a falling out with Thomas Bjorn as well a few years ago when he had a cut at Bjorn who was chairman of the European Tour Players Committee.

That should add a lot to the team dynamic Paul appointing such a divisive character as vice captain.

Harrington, of course, also sacked Bob Torrance as his coach after he won his third major and set about rebuilding his swing. Many people say Samā€™s father never got over being sacked by his long time star pupil. RIP Bob Torrance.

Ah Iā€™ve heard it all nowā€¦
Olly wonā€™t do his job for a cause he has giving blood for because of PH, which implicitly is blaming Paul McGinley. The absolute biscuit however is somehow implying that PH caused the death of Bob Torrance !!

The 2002 Ryder Cup hero deserves a break here lads, especially from his own countrymen.
