I just had a 2.50e cheeseburger in Luigis across from the train station. That’s 1990 prices.
Yes but in 1990 you might actually have gotten beef in it.
Jaysus it’s not. I worked in a Supermacs in 1998.
A Mighty Mac Burger (double burger with cheese) meal was £3.25 (about €4), the same rate as my hourly pay. I think it stayed around that price until I finished up in 2000. A cheeseburger was around £1.
It’s TFK, I may have exaggarated and pulled a year out of my hole. Cut me some slack here pal. Are you still in Supermacs?
An occasional customer but haven’t had employment there in almost a quarter of a century.
Has anyone experienced the Turkmen Grill on Parnell St.? I’ve heard good things about it.
Quality.
Is Rio’s in Castletroy open again?
I had a takeaway from there a good while back, it was grand without being exceptional though it does have a good reputation. I think Mejana was a bit better for the equivalent dish.
Really good, during Ramadan the crowds in the evening were crazy,
Leave your health and safety goggles at the door though
I think it’s class; if you are a fan of Afghan food.
Qabuli pilau ![]()
Smashing spot.
Myself and a couple pals would have running group bet. Loser pays for lunch in limk when all in town.
Turkman gets the nod every time. Good, solid atin.
I hope there was a haype of garlic and chili sauce lashed onto that
Is that Turkish lavas bread?
Think naan bread
I must go have a look
They give it in plastic bottles on the side, which was my main mark against it on my one trip there but thought the food was well decent. Admittedly, my only trip there was after a hape of porter.
Do they do takeaways?
What’s that exactly?
