If KK and Galway bring their A-game they could deliver two bad beatings to Cork and Clare respectively going on form, but neither have played particularly well this year, Galway more so. Clare have delivered decent spells in games to date but have also yet to put in a 70 min performance, I don’t know if it’s niavity or coming from the sidelines, but they need to be far more ruthless, especially in front of goal. Breeze or no breeze, they should have been out of sight, or at least had a substantial lead, against Cork at half time but blew it. Again against Wexford the last day there were opportunities to go for the Jugular but they didn’t leaving Wexford in the game. Honan will be key if they are to even think about winning you’d feel but the one thing i’d like to see is some passion, it has been sadly mssing all year bar maybe for a spell in the second half against Waterford. (Is Honan injured???)
Cork have Horgan back, great news, but how are they going to use him and the other forwards?? Lobbing ball down onto of the KK defence like they did the last day against Limerick will be suicide, they’ll clean up all day. Cork’s movement and their short running game was great at times against LK, they need more of the same here, particularly if they are going to persist with the short puck out. Kk have not been finishing teams off like in years gone by tho, which gives Cork a chance, but the likes of O’Farrell and more so Lehane are not going well from what i’ve seen, I’d start Coughlan. Like Clare, they need to bring a bit of fight to the table tho or they could be eaten alive.
What Galway turns up will decide that game- But i think they will do it Galway by 4.
We know what you are gonna get from KK, how will Cork bounce back and do they have some fight in them? KK by 6.
Clare have their thoughts set on the semi final against limerick and will probaly rest Honan id say.
Davy Fitz came out again today and said that Clare’s game against Cork was a blip and that he deliberatly wanted the qualifiers route as if they played in the munster final they would have been cheated and robbed by the deliberate consortium of referees, lineman and the GAA in gerneral working against them, on a fair, level playing field Clare cannot be beaten, they are just victims of plots. The comments out of yer man Bugler as well were typical , but still we should see the real HOTY now on sunday, of course he wont win it as its all set up against them anyway.
Apparently their players are working themselves into incredible frenzies in training , there has been a ban on sex since last feburary and the recent murder in Ennis is a sign of things to come if this victimization continues.
Clare seem very confident based on their masterclasses against Laois and wexford and firmly believe they will have way too much for galway.
on the undercard, i think we are in for a savage game altogether… cork by 5 - pulling away with a bit of showboating and de banks being sung softly from the town end as Sir Henry trudges to the hirling grave…

is it true that limerick have been drinking the living shit out of it and there were only 12 at training last night?
What do you mean? That’s how we train.
We can’t afford to suffer a bad beating on sunday. We don’t want the current doom and gloom surrounding Cork hurling to get any worse and i don’t want a winter full of misery and lamentations.Im still hopeful that we can win i believe that there is a big performance in the team.So long as we perform and show that Cork hurling is far from finished then i’ll be happy enough. We will need to play smart. We need to hit good quality diagonal ball into the forwards. We can’t afford to play dumb and just hit ball down on top of that Kilkenny half back line.We need to see smart hurling from Cork mixed with a let’s strip to the waist and fight like tink*rs if were to win this one approach!I think we’ll ask questions of Kilkenny but i fear that we don’t have enough depth on the bench to finish the job.
Galway patching up the battered ship under closed doors the past 2 weeks… A few leaks here and there still but she almost ready for another voyage… Mattie Kenny nearly fell overboard during an abandoned mutiny but one of the safety rails saved him.
Can’t see Clare winning I’m afraid, Galway to win by 7. This is unfortunate as of the teams left I would least like to play Galway if they hit anything like their form of last year.
Cork v kk is tough to call. You’d think Cork are better than Waterford and on form that should be enough to beat kk. Depends also on how much further along kk’s walking wounded are. I expect kk to come drag themselves through this one as well through bloody mindedness. Kk by 2.

Yeah a very average Waterford team pushed Kilkenny all the way (they would have won if John Mullane was out on the pitch!) but i think the cat’s were a bit tired that night. They’ll be refreshed after the break and they looked like getting back into form in extra time of the Waterford match.Im confident that our lad’s can give a good account of themselves but if Kilkenny strike form then they’ll win.
