Serie A 2013/2014

The Genoa derby has to be the most underrated fixture in the Italian football calendar. I hope to attend one next season.

Gabbiadini is the most improved player in Serie A this season.

Also been very impressed with Fetfatzidis when Iā€™ve seen him this season. He will be one to watch out for with Greece at this summerā€™s World Cup.

Sampdoria win it 1-0. Very enjoyable game.

I havenā€™t been impressed by Mihajlovic in his other managerial stints in Italy but what a job he has done at Sampdoria, theyā€™re a great team, they play nice football and they have true grit and guts. Gabbiadini is a superb player, I was also very impressed by De Silvestri tonight.

Udinese beat Fiorentina 2-1 tonight in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final. Hopefully Fiorentina turn it around in the second leg as the last thing Italy needs is Udinese embarrassing themselves in Europe again. Luis Muriel scored a cracking drive to win it in the last ten minutes.

Roma and Napoli up tomorrow.

What a magnificent goal by him tonight.

A Prince among thieves

anyone see Di Natale sulking on the turf after the Fiorentian goal?
first of all he dived on the half way line and gave away possession, instead of chasing back he stayed on his knees screaming at the ref whilst Fiorentina went down the field and scored.
I really like Fiorentina and the way they attack, its suh a pity Rossi is out for the season tho, but fuck it their defence is chronically bad, they try to play that zonal marking game but go figure lads you have to chase players when defending a corner or set pieceā€¦ the space they give the oposition is crazy.
anyway, ive backed them for the Italian cupā€¦

Di Natale has and always will be a player of extremely dubious character. This is the same guy who asked to be subbed when he missed a penalty in a CL qualifier. He has consistently bottled it on the big stage with Italy and you just need to look at Udinese embarrassments in Europe under his captaincy.

Heā€™s not still with Udinese out of loyalty but out of fear and insecurities. He is not the type of player you want by your side when the going gets tough. He has talent but is very selfish and greedy. I despise him and the shame he has brought my country.

Marco Branca will leave his post at Inter in the coming days. He has been repsonsible for a disastarous transfer strategy over the past few seasons so it can only be a good thing you can imagine. Lazioā€™s Igli Tare seems to be the front runner to replace him right now.

Weird Milan team tonight with Abate playing on the right wing and Taraabt on the left with Robinho off Balotelli. I donā€™t think Seedorf really knows what heā€™s at.

Taraabt puts Milan one up.

Inler levels it with a deflected strike.

Very open game but both sides really poor at the back.

Essien is completely done but Taraabt has looked good.

Emanuelson is terrible.

Abbiati booked there for apparently fouling Mertens outside the area when through on goal. Mertens had already got his shot off and put it wide before Abbiati collides into him. Shouldnā€™t even be a free.

Higuain goal ruled out for offside.

Essien took a touch there that ended about 15 feet away from him. Even at his peak he was a terrible footballer.
