Seve Ballesteros

Seems to be getting better and I am very glad. I have always been a fan of the mad bastard from the time Bandage Senior and I used to go to the Irish Open many years ago and follow him around the course.

Hope he recovers fully and fast, he was a genius in his heyday the shots he could pull off. Pity his back went to fuck for the last decade or so.

A golfing genius. Il never forget watching him hit a 3 iron up against the lip in a bunker and make the green. Hes made the european tour what it is today.

Seems to be getting worse.

:o

I’ve been happily peddling my anti-golf agenda for over 2 years and then that elderly Turkish fook bumps a thread and goes and ruins it for me.

I wish Seve all the best.

As TASE would say Bandage, there’s nothing wrong with being able to reevaluate ones position and change it accordingly. It shows a mature open mind. You Dad most likely dragged you kicking and screaming to watch those freaks bang a small white ball around a field into a hole.

You’re very fond of specifically explaining a sport in attempt to belittle it aren’t you? Like above, and like snooker.

How would you describe soccer then? 11 lads kicking a leather ball of air around in an attempt to get the ball between two posts and under a crossbar while 11 other men try to stop them. Doesn’t sound like rivetting stuff when you say it like that now does it?

Yes

Neither snooker nor golf are sports. Both are possible to master when late into your 40’s or even more. The sheer lack of physical prowess needed to master both belittle both. I simplify to make it easier for simpletons.

It doesn’t have to be completely about physical prowess though. The mind is as powerful a tool as anything for top sportsmen, and Golf certainly needs a strong head, and there is great skill involved which needs considerable physical prowess.

By the way i hope Seve gets well, a great sportsman and a great character.

I understand all of what you’ve said Caoimhaoin, but it still stands that a man in his 50’s came close to winning one of the most presitigious of golf tournament not long ago. This on its own precludes golf from being called a sport.

Thats an extremely odd view, i would say that makes it a better sport.

Is there an age limit on sports? You’d better give Giggsy a ring and tell him to forget about the CL final.

What the fuck is wrong with being in your 50s. Is boxing not a sport because George Foreman boxed into his fifties ?

Saw Seve put it in the water 3 times trying to chip onto the 18th in Fota. Legend

Brown bread.

RIP

RIP Seve.

RIP the Maradona of golf

:frowning:

Sad to hear the news, one of the good guys, met him once in the heritage, very approachable and a gent. I echo Sids comment, different class. RIP Seve.

Never heard of him…

Is it another one of those things that are easy to master, like your mates who can shoot something from 3 miles away MBB?
