Shinty & International Rules Series Thread - again, yes it's happening fucking again

Tommy Walsh has been consistently awful over the two games. Unreal bad.

Good start to the fourth quarter. Ireland finally getting in front of their men.

Agreed, and Sean Cavanagh is an awful greedy fucker, belieing his own hype i’d say, its something i noticed with Tyrone as well in the past 2 years.

He’s done an awful lot of silly stuff tonight.

Ya, management must take some flak for playing like this all the time, the tactics were awful.

Exciting finish now, the Aussies have gone into their shell a bit. McKernan is a fine player, what was done to him for the All-Stars was a disgrace.

Michael Murphy has just gone ape! :o

Can’t believe someone thought the best idea was to handpass the ball away after that little scramble

Bad miss there from Clarke after relieving the pressure finally.

Who scored the Irish goal?

.

Kavanagh got it. From a couple of yards out after a Brogan dummy took out the keeper.

Was that Walsh with that pathetic shot at the end there?

James Kavanagh.

Aussies by far the better team over all.

the game favours the Irish in nearly every aspect(ball, goalkeeper, goals, pitch etc etc) & favours us slightly in the tackle yet we won

is the myth of GGA players fitness exposed?
are the skills levels in GGA bad at the moment

why was that such a convincing win?

What did he do?

The fitness “myth” as you call it is only silly pub talk. Anyone with an ounce of sporting/fitness knowledge knows we are not as fit as the Aussies, or any professional field sport. Its comparing players who training twice a day for 5-6 days to players who train once a day for 5-6 days. Its a ridiculous comparision.

What should be said is that GAA players are extremely committed and are incredibly fit for amateurs. The general conditioning and practicality of GAA training is ever improving and evolving. We should be proud of that, not making up stuff that is more or less irrelivant, except for this series.

The game has to be weighed in our favour ncc due to the difference in fitness, and it simply would not work with their ball.

On the skills, no i don’t think so, no better or worse than ever, despite what the “experts” over the age of 55 try to tell us.

The Irish tactics were the cause of this loss, IMO.

Came on, won 2 balls in a minute and won a super mark and kicked 2 savage points, thats the only ball he saw i’d say!

what were the irish tactics?

In the first test very much to play soccer and avoid the tackle. Wasn’t till 2nd half of 2nd test they started to play Gaelic football.

just back from the match. Very disappointed with the skill levels of the Irish team. Couldn’t kick, pass, for score for most of the game. Frustrating stuff to watch. Next time a few more scoring forwards wouldn’t go astray. Despite that they nearly beat the aussies. Good finish but a poor series.

Tactics were poor alright, but so were the basic skills Kev. Awful frustrating to watch. Fitness wise there didn’t seem to be a huge difference, which made the gulf in basic skills all the more galling

Any time the Irish players kicked the ball it was obvious they were expecting a clothesline across the neck. So basically they were afraid of their shite. Says me from my bed, early night granted due to the hour less sleep.

How did Colm Begley go out of curiousity?

Laois people clearly have very little to get excited about.
