Theres a women i know who got gynaecological problems from running and is the same. She had to stop running for a couple of years cos it gave her a leaky bladder. You could be the same maybe? She was a hardcore runner too.
I haven’t been the same runner since I had the excess fluid drained out of my big ball last year. I thought two same sized balls would work to my advantage but no.
I accept that we sometimes don’t see, or want to see, what’s staring us in the face. But as I meander through my autumn years & start to attend more reunions, alumni events and annual lunches/dinners, I’m certainly looking young & fresh compared to other misfortunate types. I was at the Chartered Accountants Leinster Society Christmas Lunch a while back & some of my peers looked around 60 years old (cc @Appendage). Roll on the Stokes Kennedy Crowley alumni dinner on Friday night actually.
We’re due our 25-year school reunion next year actually. Or is it 30 years? I enjoy the annual write up in The Wexford People delivered in the same format each year. Mass in the school chapel, a tour of the school led by the current principal & accompanied by some teachers from that era, a meal in some hotel or restaurant down town (or, heaven forbid, the school canteen) followed by drinks in a local pub. Some revellers are usually reported to have continued reminiscing & laughing into the small hours.
What secondary school is best represented on TFK?
I’d be shocked if there’s another poster from my alma mater
Limerick, Wexford or Galway I presume, seems to be a lot of Limerick city or South Galway posters, I don’t really know where any of the Wexicans are from
