If KK can win the U21 AI then it opens up a new supply of fresh hurlers for him to pick from. In reality there is maybe 3 or 4 new faces needed to really improve what they currently have.
One thing about Cody throughout all his winning years was the lack of injection of fresh blood every year.
He was never one to throw in young lads unless they were of really really high quality like Henry, JJ or Tommy. Even TJ Reid had to bide his time & wait for his chance.

Seeing Cody losing it with Smurf McGrath was a bit embarrassing for the man as it’s something he rarely did years ago. It might all be getting too much for him but I don’t think his ego will let him bow out being beaten in the Qualifiers.

Surely there’s better than Rob Lennon in KK young Cleere even. When Lester Ryan is one of the best forwards KK had on the night they know they are in trouble. Fellas like Farrell and Mark Kelly and that other Kelly fella from Ballyragget wouldn’t be within an asses roar of most top county teams. It just shows that a limited team if they play with guts can come very close to getting a result

No i think yhe point being made is Fogarty was central to it. And maybe time is now showing that. We can only really speculate.

The only thing i ever heard was thru Tyrell who has a couple of very good mates here that i know, and he always had significant praise for Fogarty. There must be something in that. It was probably a great mix along with Dempsey. All guys you would respecy in different ways

But this is Ireland. Cody was an absolute thug on the field, but he got forgiven that. So was Jimmy Denihan, he became Minister for Sport.

Its not that i would forgive him for that, but life goes on. One would assune he learned from it.

Again, i’m not championing Eddie. Just think he has something and people are very quick to dismiss him

No he wasn’t. He was a classy enough defender who relied on his hurling to make up for a lack of pace due to persistent knee problems

It’d be great if Cody let all the gobshites have their say and wait for the County Board to come out and say he’s def staying on before announcing that he’s going to step down.

That man has earned the right to go out on his own terms.
