Should Brian Cody go?

Cody should stay and will stay.

Indeed and he was, have you spoke to people who marked him? They tell a different story

Different game back then Kev. Every fullback timbered whatever came near him, twas in the job spec.

This thread is funny.

Cody was a well known timber merchant

Got the answer to one if the crossword clues there. Thanks for that

He should have gone before now. His reign ends in abject failure and Shefflin has the last laugh. He stayed too long.

@Sidney will Shefflington have a column giving his thoughts on the great mans predicament?

I find it mad to think that anyone is questioning a manager that has won 11 All Irelands in 18 years.

What have you seen from Brennan to indicate heā€™s a good enough manager? @caoimhaoin

Iā€™d say itā€™s more a question of timing rather than his ability. He has been in charge a long time, and the team is now going to be in a major rebuilding phase. That will take time, so its probably a case of how long will he be around to see that through. Does he have 3-5 years left to give to that sort of work?

The flip side of it is the question of is there really anyone good enough to take over now. Iā€™m not sure there is.

Is that whatā€™s been claimed here?? (I canā€™t be arsed scrolling back through 200 posts) - Well fuck me - Steady Eddie ā€¦ The KK u21s from last year blame him solely for the cluster fuck - said he wasnā€™t up to it ā€¦ A man can learn tho and he seems to have taken on board their criticism from the sound bites after the last few games but thereā€™s fuck all evidence yet to suggest he will be a good manager.

Would the number of lads who retired or are struggling on with serious injuries under the Cody regime be above or below the norm?

Anyone who has ever played in a full back line will acknowledge that you need to have a bit of dirt in you to fit in there. When I wasnā€™t warming the metaphoric bench as a young lad, I spent a fair bit of time chopping and harassing at corner back. Those were the days when you didnā€™t need any pace to play in the corner and the fast boys were put at wing back

Shure what else would he be doing??

Exactly. Itā€™s not as if heā€™s going to go out and play a few rounds of golf. He doesnā€™t have a farm to be tipping away with, and seems like a fella with no real hobbies bar hurling. He probably detests his wife, bringing her out to watch the occasional inter county match

Having said that, those weasels will be quick enough to turn on him if he stays on and has a couple of bad years

And heā€™s been kicked off as a selector for the Village afaik? Apparently there was a big bust up?

If he stays another few years he might get to the stage Arsene Wenger is at with Arsenal. An unprecedented amount of success followed by a long lean period which tarnishes the legacy a bit. He should have left in 14 if truth be told. The story about Michael Fennelly directing Cody to bring Hogan back on was incredible last weekend and a bit like the tail wagging the dog. Player discontentment might fester as well. John Power has walked. Padraig Walsh and Ger Alyward will have their own views of being hooked before half time in Wexford game. The aura is on the wane a bit, he has won everything, nothing left to prove and it was sad to see him so easily provoked on the sideline the last day.

It Would be poetic for Cody to bow out under a beating from Waterford
