Should Gerry Adams stay on as Leader of Sinn Fein?

Unless it was with former senator Cahill?

Yeah - that would cause a problem internally and with the twitter service unit

Sure it’s well established Martin McGuinness rode all round him in his prime.

Gerry moving on will give the Shinners a better chance in the next election IMO.
What will Vardakar et al do when they can’t just say murders, every time someone from Sinn FĂ©in asks a question?

Some life the man has had though. Incredible really.

Doherty ruled himself out on the radio this morning for family reasons. Surely Mary Lou can’t be caught by anyone else?

Will Gerry make a run for President?

I would assume he’ll have to at some point. I don’t think he’d have a chance but then I didn’t think McGuinness would have much of a chance either. McGuinnes was probably a more acceptable candidate than Gerry would be though.

Will Mickey D stay on? If so then Gerry won’t run this time.
Gerry has no chance in a straight up 50/50 race, he’d need 2 or 3 other strong candidates splitting the vote to sneak in.

McGuinness ran for president to get the worst of the Eire establishment list of horrors off their chest in a concerted campaign. He was well able to take it knowing he was going back to his real job in the six counties.

Gerry wouldn’t have a hope either way. McGuinness got 13%of the first preference vote and no transfers, which is more or less where SF have been stuck for years.

Adams said no without pause when asked yesterday. Said he won’t run in any election ever again.

You can bet your wife, house and children that micky d will try and cling to the presidency.
He is as labour as dick spring, and as truthful as denis o brien.

More about this today in the Archives.

Additionally, the UVF claimed that MI5 were trying to get them to bump Charlie off.

Jim Lynaght and his crew were a big obstacle if the peace process was to be successful as they would never surrender like the rest of Sinn Fein/ira. Adams had no choice but to give them up in order to move things on

So it amounts to a rumour a priest heard?

A Monaghan publican is believed to have been the source of the Loughgall betrayal.
