Sidney's imaginary bets thread - for mug punters only

Have a look at @Sidney s bank there kev before you start picking holes in his logic.

I’m not, I’m just helping out my imaginary friend so he hopefully won’t lose too much imaginary money.

There is logic to a lot of SIDS bets, yet if he avoided the trebles and went with his logic on singulars or at most the odd double I would think he’d do somewhere between quite well and very well long term.

Yet if he did you’d criticise him for backing low priced bets

I’ve just opened a non-imaginary account with non-imaginary bookmaker Boylesports.

Of course I couldn’t resist a big, muggish non-imaginary accumulator to start off with, which is as follows:
Chelsea to beat Hull @1/5
London Wasps to beat Castres @ 1/14
Exeter Chiefs to beat La Rrochelle @ 1/80
Gloucester to beat Zebre @1/9
Bayern Munich to beat Augsburg @ 3/10
Baltimore Ravens to beat Jacksonville Jaguars @ 1/10
Indianapolis Colts to beat Houston Texans @ 1/3
New England Patriots to beat Miami Dolphins @ 4/15
Green Bay Packers to beat Buffalo Bills @ 1/2
Toulon to beat Leicester @ 1/8
Edinburgh to beat London Welsh @ 1/6
Northampton to beat Benetton Treviso @ 1/500
St. Vincent’s to beat Rhode @ 1/4
Loughmore to beat Aherlow @ 4/7
Manchester City to beat Leicester City @ 40/85
Atletico Madrid to beat Villarreal @ 8/13
Toulouse to beat Glasgow Warriors @ 13/10
Stake: €20
Potential profit: €1,479.18

Correction: Potential profit is €1,459.18.

My selections tomorrow have both taken the “southern softies don’t like it up 'em up north” factor into account, but also taking into account that both sets of southern softies have more class, hence the draw selections.

No I wouldn’t, generally I think a slow long term based approach with mostly those types of bets is the way to go.

Bayern Munich are pissing me off here.

Just gone 1-0 up after 57 minutes. And it’s now 2-0 with the next attack.

My only odds against selection, Toulouse, got me off to a good start. 7 selections currently in play and all are now ahead.

8 from 8 after all of Saturday’s selections. A €20 stake on these 8 would have made a €113 profit.

9 to go for the coup of the year.

I told you not to do it.

Eh, you were bigging up Southampton.

Your pitiful sense of humour is very disappointing

And remembering, betting is about winning and losing, it’s not like playing sport where there can be satisfaction in how you play. How you win or lose is irrelevant.

You were the one who introduced the concept of rationale to betting threads. And for that I thank you.

That was a top quality bet. Rationale was really good and you outthought the bookies. A mere missed Southampton penalty prevented a very astute and impressive winner from materialising. Super punting.

The rationale is for others to ponder previous to a bet. Not something to cry about after.

What are your thoughts on Leinster Club, I met a prominent club and county footballer last night who has actually put money on Rhode. Not sure I’d go that far, but they are probably a bit long on odds.
