Significant people's (not celebrities) deaths

You forgot the impirtant part

While you may be mistaking this for your monthly meeting of the Ignorant Tight-Ass Club, in this building, when the President stands, nobody sits.

Following the Ten Commandments would save a lot of a folk a lot of trouble .

Commandment 11. Don’t be getting into vicious arguments with people you don’t know on something called the Internet in couple of thousand years time

I’d say he never fully recovered from that controversy. He took it very hard.

It was a bad mistake. Being a referee and getting the time wrong - I’ve never actually seen it before. People do make mistakes though - even bad ones.

RIP to him.

Why in the name of God didn’t some sideline official or one of the linesmen grab him and say ‘you’ve another couple of minutes to play, go back out there and finish it out.’

It was such a genuine, honest mistake that was easily fixable.

RIP.

Yer man Jim Roche marched him off the pitch as he realised his mistake, the Biffos occupied the pitch and the dye was cast

I read an interview with the man years later, he said blowing it up early still weighed heavily on him even with the passage of time. Must have been a tough cross to bear. Didn’t realise he played in the 1980 final and was a decorated player in his own right.

Mind you he probably cost Clare an All-Ireland so some good came out of it.

Think he was left corner back in 1980.
