Kinsella came up trumps for me in my leaving cert. He had the least amount of poems and seemed the ideal candidate to study 30 minutes before the exam. My mate laughed at me and told me he came up the prior year. He saw the paper before me, turned around and called me a poxy prick.

Rocky Rosmuc. Mannion was a very interesting character. Went from Connemara to working on the buildings in Boston to fighting for a world title.
I remember watching the fight as a young fella, along with my late father (who knew his boxing) If I recall, Mannion went the distance but was well outpointed.

Before my time, but he was the chap none of Leonard, Duran, Hagler or Hearns would fight.
Supposed to be maybe the best technical fighter of all time.

Similar memories. My aul lad got myself and the brother up out of bed for that fight. Tea and Club milks but Mannion was outclassed
There is a lovely rte doc on 1 about Mannion as well as a tg4 doc. He came across as a lovely man but tormented by the gargle.

Carmencita Hederman, the very posh former Lady Mayor of Dublin. I saw it in de deaths so she probably died in 2025.
