Sinn Fein - Populism and Partionism

Iā€™m all over the place? Please tell me that irony was unintended!!

Short term yes, MNCs now have the Irish state by the ghoulies, so much so that the Irish state was spending 10s of millions on fighting a tax bill of ā‚¬13bn that the EU said they were owed. Now who in their right mind would do such a thing. Imagine you went off to court to fight a judgement that said you were owed ā‚¬13m in damages from a corporate company? It defies logic, not unless you were in bed for a lot more than that which you actually had to go and fight it?

The state needs major capital investment in housing and health. Thatā€™s fairly obvious though. Where the money comes from is clearly an issue. An issue because of FFG policies, of their short termism and just general incompetence in having any sort of vision and ability to tackle social and economic issues. Thatā€™s oddly enough the policies you are here defending while accusing others of being all over the place. Absolutely laughable.

They do need to be careful what they wish for.

FFG sold them a pup about the dream of prosperity which now looks to mean working up until your 70s, paying through the nose for a shitty box room and never owning your own home, having to fork out thousands for basic health insurance etc.

I posted Swedenā€™s largest employers in repsonse to this post.

Any chance you could stay on point?

Why arenā€™t Sweden beholden to MNCs like Ireland?

Itā€™s one of the best countries in the world to live in.

Sure didnā€™t you move here and the world at your fingertips

Could have stayed in a thriving economy governed by Sinn Fein and instead moved to the FFG banana republic

You posted some of their largest companies, which is hilarious because the majority of them will be overseas.

Sweden is an impressive country with some impressive companies. But so is Ireland. The likes of CRH, Ryanair, Flutter, Smurfit Kappa and Kerry Group are market leaders in their area and giant global employers.

Once again Tim, more deflection and badly done.

Sweden donā€™t rely on foreign MNCs coming into their country and providing jobs, they have a strong domestic economy that provide plenty of jobs to the market.

But you just continue on trying to ignore that. Good man.

The largest employers in Ireland are the likes of Apple, Amazon, Intel and a load of US big pharma.

Whatā€™s the biggest indigenous industry in the FS? Do they actually have one?

When you became an economic migrant to the free state, did you join an MNC or one of the SMEs that donā€™t exist?

You talked about SMEs but posted about a load of large worldwide employers from there. Once again you donā€™t appear to know what you are talking about.

As mentioned, for its size Ireland also has a large number of world leading companies, more than equivalent to those Swedish companies.
So again itā€™s incorrect from you.

In terms of actual SMEs, there are specific points that you could hit on with regard to Irelandā€™s failings in that regard, but you donā€™t appear to even know what a SME is.

I also spoke about domestic industry. You must have ignored that bit.

I donā€™t think that is anyway accurate. Sweden has a far bigger domestic industry that Ireland even in relative terms.

Is there another EU country as reliant on foreign MNCs as Ireland? If so name them.

Iā€™ve no idea and Iā€™m happy to state that.

Reality is though that Ireland has huge huge global companies as well. You posted Securitas and the hundreds of thousands of jobs as if they were all Swedish. The vast majority are outside, itā€™s a security company after all. Itā€™s like posting CRH with nearly 80k employees and boasting about it for Ireland. Itā€™s the wrong context.

Over 1m in Ireland are employed with SMEs. One of the biggest issues in Ireland for SMEs is access to sufficient capital to grow international. Thatā€™s a failure to attract that in on the Governmentā€™s part, but is also tied to how we have overregulated banks on the back of other demands.

Those she know the troubles ended over a generation ago?

Ferris?

Sarah Carey.

The answer is someone from one of their coalition partyā€™s, duh.

I see FF Nua, sorry, Sinn Fein, have backtracked and now look set to throw their full support behind the Special Criminal Court.

Although I suppose you could say they would be returning to their roots of kangaroo courts which delivered summary justice?

Itā€™s almost like Sinn Fein will say anything just to be popular.

Populist Eastwood talking about populism. The most deluded politician on this island by some distance.

The vast majority of people in the north have no interest in vaccine passports bar Eastwood and his merry band of Stoops.

A bit like Colum Eastwood chasing his tail with his latest attack on SF as his party become ever more an irrelevance.
