Are you on IPTV?
Iâd love to know how many skilled trades left the country in that period out of necessity and never returned
It isnât idle gossip
Ah Jaysus
It doesnât matter whether it is or not. Itâs the timing of it. Itâs too late for SF to clean up the mess.
A lot of them left but an awful lot of them took jobs in the factories in Limerick and stayed in there. When lads get used to being paid every week they get to like it.
Edit
I remember reading in the paper about ten years ago or more there was only one apprentice blocklayer serving his time.FAS should have been training up apprentices themselves seeing as there was no work for them and we wouldnât have the shortage we have now of tradies
A Civil Engineer I know got well looked after during the Celtic Tiger years. Emigrated to Australia in 2012 and is driving plant machinery in a mine in North Western Australia. Heâd earn less now as an engineer if he returned home than he does in the mine or if he resumed Engineering, despite the time gap.
On the flip side heâs working in a mine in North West Australia
Basically in prison
Only 3 people doing apprenticeships in the wet trades currently a plasterer friend told me there recently
I think we will need more than those three to build the thousands and thousands of houses being promised.
Given your opening gambit it would seem so.
We will
My pal is the gasun in his crew. Heâs 49âŚoldest 59
Young manâs game if ever there was one
You mean more dirt?
What dirt is out there
Caught having a fake Twitter account which he used to abuse people from an internet cafe.
It took them a month to report Stanleyâs criminal complaint, but a matter of hours to demand censorship over a joke from Patrick Kielty.
Thatâs embarrassing from SF
For a party who certainly like to throw abuse around theyâre remarkably thin-skinned and po-faced when they get return fire
Amazing how they are trying to (once again) twist this into them being the victims.
