He didn’t do anything. He is meant to be this great, great player but was nowhere to be seen when his country needed him most.
I would call that hiding.

So if we were to use your reasoning Eoin Kelly(tipp) one of the finest hurlers of his generation went hiding against Waterford last year in the All Ireland semi-final…
Or the numerous times DJ Carey had quiet all ireland finals he was hiding…
Or Steven Gerrard, when he has a quiet or below par game for Liverpool, is he hiding

Or when you watch a rugby game and dont really understand whats going on in the pack but think that even though we might win all our own lineouts and scrums, but the second row hasnt made any barnstorming runs or tackles that he is hiding.
That’s the thing. I thought O’Connell made his name for Ireland off the back of claiming line-out ball. Surely any creamer should be able to catch a ball if two other cunts are lifting you a few feet above everyone else. Somehow our line-out’s actually gone to shit in the past few years so the fact he’s crap in open play and can’t actually run makes him stand out for negative reasons. That, along with his ridiculous ginger head and ability to make GAA teams from Cavan underperform because of an embarrassing lack of charisma.
For a great leader of men I would expect him to really put it up to the French instead of winning the odd line out - which he probably didn’t do anyway.
He has never done it when it really matters for Ireland - by doing it I mean dragging the team through difficult times and showing the leadership qualities he is supposed to possess.
That is the difference with the likes of Gerrard, Kelly etc
If this were the case it would be a very boring game.
I wont argue any of the rest of the points with ye, its been done to death.
Wel have to agree to disagree.

Could Paul O’Connell trap a crow?
Ask yourself that question.

Paul O connel could kill a rampaging Bison with his bare hands.
its simple, first put the fear of god into it and after that its like dazzling a rabbit

I’d say the crow would outsmart him
he could start talking and bore the crow into submission
And give himself something to crow about.
He would need O’Driscoll to take the challenge to the crow and he would hide behind him.
He might make an attempt to catch the crow, fumble it and drop it.
Trapping himself in Puke’s mother’s laundry basket in the process.
You’re one of the toughest critics of a sportsman i ever came across farmer…you seem to crucify a fella’s whole career on one small cluster of games…
How is that different from any sports journalist in the world??
well i’d imagine a sports journalist would generally be specialised in one particular area of Sport and also see a players career develop from an early level and be a better judge of his progression than maybe a person who watches one big sporting event on one given day…No?..
Have you ever watched RTE’s coverage of the EPL?
