Well according to your description MIck O’ Driscoll is not a journeyman at all in your opinion, as he would need to be “experienced reliable worker, athlete, or performer especially as distinguished”.
Hardly describing mediocre.
It can hardly be one and not the other.
But if you want it to mean that to make your point then go ahead. Makes no sense to me though. Who cares anyway, you think he’s mediocre, i think he’s decent. End of.
Mediocre, decent, reliable, pretty much the same middle of the road thing really. Not good enough for the Ireland 22 whatever else.
Toby Flood is starting at outhalf for England.

Really looking forward to Friday evenings game. Think it could be a winner. Presume its been driven by French TV? Maybe the 6 nations going forward could have a game on a Friday evening, a Saturday afternoon / evening and a Sunday lunchtime. Always a bit of a balls going to a game and then missing out on seeing 1 of the others because you were going to / on the home from another game.
baby is a surprise in fairness, cant ever remember seeing him playing 10 before. I guess when you think about it there isnt that many french 10s around
Toulouse use Ellisalde (inj)/Gaffie du Toit (Sa) /Michelak (not sure why hes not considered)
Stade use Bauxis (inj) / Hernandez (Arg)
Clermont James (oz) / Bai (fiji?)
Just goes to show how lucky we are that ROG is a durable little fucker.
Flood was an obviosu call, still cant believe he doenst think Cipriani was good enough for the squad.
That english back row is poor, sacrificing your No 7 into the backs wont work every day and is purely for damage limitation. Im sure Kidney willl have something up his sleeve to counter that.
I wouldnt pick one of the English pack ahead of our starting 8, Sheridan marginal maybe.
Looking for ward to Friday night now as well. Three home wins pays almost 2/1, if France win the others are nailed on you would think?
Not sure about that French team though, Wales are good, setttled, and have impact from the bench if required. France dont have a recognised goal kicker and look like the team is set up to play an expansive game. Looking forward to seeing Bastareaud in the centre, he is like a little polly bull.

Yeah but it’s a bit of a fucker getting from Toulouse to Paris on a Friday night to see your home team in action I’d say.
Very surprised at Baby at #10 for France. Is Beauxais injured or just dropped from the 22 altogether?

Maybe they know something that we don’t, but playing Baby at 10 seems a little mad. Has he been playing there for Clermont or something, didn’t think so.

Injured, so is Skrela.
Sorry saw your post afterwards. Still surprising they couldn’t get someone more natural in there. It’s not as though Baby has been brilliant in the centre either.
Yep v strange, and they have a 10 on the bench, Montpellier arent going too bad either so he cant be utter scutter (saying that I saw Mark McHugh playing 10 for them a few times this season and hes hardly international standard!!)
Did he not once get a hat trick of tries versus Ireland to stop the grand slam.
Have never heard of Baby playing 10 in my life, very strange choice. Needs must and all that, but Ellisalde is still available as is Freddy who, while being mercurial, is still a decent player.
Welsh will take this one Dan, stay away from that bet.
I went for a Celtic Nation treble. Just better than evens.
Dont think so KIB?

is ellisalde not injured as well?
He was originally dropped from the squad, didnt realise he’d gotten injured since? Perhaps he has.
Mark McHugh. Would one describe him as a journeyman?
I think the word was invented for him, hes had a great innings. Hope hes picking up a nice few quid in S France now anyways
Just checked on Wiki. He got just the one and headbutted BOD. Think he was the star that day though.
An Irish Club XV is taking on an English Counties selection in Donnybrook on Friday evening at 5pm. This available to view on rte.ie.
