Six Nations 2009
Nah dont agree with this at all.

Cipriani is a massive talent, hes a big lad, great pace, great balance great vision. he is going through a rough patch at the moment with his kicking both out of hand and place kicking. I think it is a poor reflection on all his coaches that he has been blocked down so much, it should be an easy thing to sort out, but it seems to have affected his confidence big time.

One of the few hyped No 10s to come to Thomond and do the business.
Thought Barnes stuck the knife in a bit by writing a whole article, aided by diagrams, in the sunday times a few weeks back on how Cipriani could avoid being blocked down so often…I can’t see how it could have helped anyone’s cause…
Hes been harshly treated enough IMHO. Hes a decent player and a decent kicker but I dont think he has been forgiven for the assault, hasnt gotten much of a chance since. Id rate him ahead of Flood anyways who is lightweight and indecisive.
Wouldn’t rate flood either…Don’t think he is up to much, yet Shane Geraghty who is the form playmaker in the GP hasn’t been getting a look in…Hopefully Johnson sees sense and plays shane at either 10 or 12 at the weekend

Ya that was fairly fucking funny I thought.
It was the most obviosu piece of advice I have ever seen, and he was probably right, but fuck me the arrogance of barnes to think he was passing a titbit along to Edwards, McGeechan, Johnson etc!!

His technique is poor is all, he goes for the winner every time and just takes too long to get it away.

His pack have to take a bit of the blame for it as well though, should be protecting him a bit better, don’t think it has helped poor Dan ‘I spelt with a man’ Cipriani that the Wasps pack have been next to useless this season

I’d rather Johnson continued to pick over the hill muck like Andy Goode indtead of stumbling across a potential difference maker.

Fair point, I like rugby though Bandage, thus I like to see the best players on display.

Id also like to shove Ciprianis head up his own arse after the masterclass he gave against us in Twickers last year

Fair enough bandage but England are as poor as they have been in a long time, Lacking in nearly every part of the field…No decent second rows, some potentially good back rows in the likes of Haskell and Croft but are stuck with the likes of Nick Easter at 8 due to a lack of leaders…Care is a decent scrum half and Cipriani and Geraghty have potential but they have no decent centres and will probably end up with at least one of Tindall/Noon there, while their wide players, sackey and monye are nothing special, speedsters with little or no brains…

Don’t think they are any real threat and they will need a lot more that Shane Geraghty to become a decent side

Seriously, with Care and Ciprani now in the Saxon’s squad, the proper English squad is beginning to look inferior in comparison.

Should be a cracking match Friday night.

Is care in the saxons squad?..That is a joke…You sure you ain’t getting him confused with Harry Ellis?

Its an awful pity we didn’t manage to persuade Geraghty to play for us… Somebody slipped up there big time./ Interesting that his debut and one other game (I think) apart, he hasn’t figured. I’d say the English capped him to stop him playing for us.

Said the same thing myself on here a few months ago…Think the other game was against Frnace, came off the bench and was superb, made a couple of sublime breaks, England beat france the same day, think it was 2007…

Well they’ll have a distinct advantage playing 24 men against 15 anyway.

Is the Sexton lad any relation to Johnno Sexton? Or the Kearney fella to Robbo Kearney?

Their his sons.

I don’t think Kearney and Sexton are any relation though.

Thought as much…Presume they have declared for Ireland after the way Mike was treated with Wales…

Quick edit there of the Alan Ruddock Puke

Their mother is Irish, hadnt thought of the other angle but that may well be the case.

I saw one of them playing for Ireland before, might be wrong about this but pretty sure the other fella has played for Wales underage before, would be a good coup to rob a player off the taffs.

David Kearney is Robs brother alright, was a star schools player last year, the bulb off hisolder brother. A full back as well. Doubt Sexton is any relation as he plays for Old Belvo, his brother is St Marys, northside southside divide is hardly conquered at that young age!

Of the other backs I have seen a lot of Conor Murray the scrum half, he played senior with the Coookies last season and was the driving force behind them being promoted, quality player, will defo have a munster contract within a few years. Hardy as fuck as well, as youd expect from a Cookie scrum half.

Andrew Burke is supposed to be very good too, cant say Iv seen him playing too often, once maybe in a schools game.

Paddy McAllister is hardly Lukes brother / cousin?!

I wouldnt say so Maccer, he has a good strong Norn Iron name anyways.

I invested 200 europeans on Ireland to win the 6N championship this evening on my way home from work. Boylesports were a standout 7/2.

Cant see us being beaten Saturday
Might struggle against Scots but should do it
England are a shambles, when I saw exactly how much of a shambles today it was the final convincing I needed to bet
italy, meh, wel beat them, it might not be pretty but wel beat them
Wales last day, will be able to lay it off it comes down to this.

Think that is worth a punt alright dan…this weekend is the big one, if they win they will build momentum and will be tough to beat(barring injuries to a key player or 2)…If they lose it could be the end of some senior players
