Three beautiful tries. The team playing the more attractive rugby won. The English had nothing to offer except turgid pick and rush while our trequartista line mastered what little space they got. That was the difference.

I disagree with a lot of what’s been posted on the game. I thought England showed more ambition than usual but they didn’t have the quality to make their complete dominance in the front five, which I predicted, count. They were still very unfortunate with some decisions going against them most notably for the second try. O’Callaghan, Ferris and Heaslip had massive games and they were two excellent finishes by Bowe. O’Callaghan’s display was crucial given how those around him were floundering. I thought O’Driscoll’s defence and his turnovers, including for the first try, were typically magnificent. Ireland didn’t get much opportunity to attack in open play due to England’s dominance in possession. The tries came from two set pieces and a turnover. O’Connell took a few lineouts from the top, which is routine when being lifted, but his performance was utterly embarrassing. He conceded a raft of penalties and luckily England only coverted one. That’s not to mention the series of knock ons in attacking situations, dropping the kick off after Earls’ try which gave them field position to score, the forward pass at 13 each and then being so big, useless and clumsy not to be able to adjust his feet to avoid the captain’s head. I fucking hate that ginger cunt.
