@gilgamboa how good could this lámour chap be? We lack a real cutting edge, esp since ó Driscoll. I don’t buy the stuff JS is Conservative in his approach to the game. He sets Ireland up the best way to win matches. We don’t have the backs at this level to take the big teams on Imo. At leinster who had backs at that level he played a very attacking game. If he goes to nz he would get the best out of them.
Larmour was outstanding at U20 level for Ireland last season and has taken step up to european cup level in his stride. Could be top notch alright but early days. Lot of back 3 players explode onto the scene and dont hold their form as opposition start to focus on them. He looks electric in fairness but fellas roaring for Schmidt to start him is gas when he probably wont start european knock out games for his club. Mightnt even make the 23

Schmidt is a boring conservative coach. He’ll never full trust talent.
His main problem is he doesnt have an outside centre. The Aki - Henshaw partnership is essentially two 12s playing alongside each other. Ringrose out injured is a loss in that regard.
Keith Earls experiment at 13 didnt work but he is flying it on the wing, and Schmidt noted that before anyone in fairness.
Pat Lam didn’t have much issue getting attacking rugby out of those two at 12 and 13
