Ulster academy is a bit of a shambles recently. Stockdale has it all. Looks easy tapping those in but when he gets properly going it will be amazing. He was nominated for world u20 player year as a full back and he looked a class apart in that position
I dont think stocdale is all that yet anyway. Long way to go for him but as gilgamboa says he has that happy knack.
Ulster had the most on the wolf pullies team last night.
I think hes being eased into the gameplan a little. We havent seen the half of what he can do in attack
His decision making in an attacking sense is outstanding
It’s the schools though
They are almost ready and in a good generally safe way too for 1st team rugby coming out of school.
And academically there seems to be a good pattern as well.
They know what they are at
Who are the 5 or 6?
He is amazing considering his experience
Aki, Ringrose, Murray, Sexton, Stockdale, Furlong maybe even James Ryan, Sean O’Brien and Henshaw.
You should have let me know you were over mate, we could have wept together for the soldiers song
Dunno . If Ireland gave that amount of ball to NZ , Aus , a firing England or even Wales it would be carnage .
The top players are very good coming out of the schools alright. And as @anon32894817 said they have strong reps on int underage sides. Have been poor at bringing through the players below that level though. Henderson last hone grown forward of anything near international quality they have produced. They would sometimes have only 2 or 3 /10 ulster born forwards in a matchday squad.
Even with glut of backs they produced there over last few years they still played this season with 4 + non ulster backs in starting line up
If it’s the schools it’s a terrible indictment on rugby
There’s still time, I’ll see you in Ruislip tomorrow
Give stockdale a winters test down in Eden Park and you can measure him from that. He’ll become a fine player in time. Just keep him out of ollies.
Different tactics every game though.
In fairness hard to not believe Joe is suckling teams in alot.
Granted Scotland were a shit pass away from different scoreline.
But how many times were NZ seemingly playing worse than the opposition away nd go in 11 points up?
Ireland going for championship today
The chap from the radio says Scotland should be ahead here?
Scotland really lacking killer instinct here . Ireland are vulnerable when attacked out wide . Worrying .
