it actually is
the scene where the coon gets beat up is class
Deary me. Iâm surprised @Rocko is letting this slide.
The characterâs surname was Cooney and he was affectionately referred to as âThe Coonâ*.
There was also a black chap viciously beaten to within an inch of his life but Iâm confident thatâs not the incident mickee was referring to.
*The Cooney character did not in fact exist.
yes but they didnât just do it. twice cork went into injury time in critical match in the lead and couldnât close it out. I think cork were excellent both days but the idea that they played poorly the first day was undermined by their identical return the second day.
I just think that they are not good enough
Kev feels they are and one of us will be proved right
Here is a question for you then. Do you think a cork team with those lads on it can win an all ireland ?
I donât. I know what way you are rationalising it with ifâs ands and buts and maybes and so on.
we had adecent side in clare between 02 and 06 giving great performances at different times such as 04 v kilkenny 05 vat cork and 06 against kilkenny but when push came to shove the players were not good enough .
In the last few years cork have played in a munster final and replay a second munster final, an all ireland final and replay a league final a munster under 21s final and a relegation play off and lost them all in the end.
I recognise the hope for the future and the dismissal of faults in players that are obvious enough to opponents allied to the inflation of young players and unavailable lads who would drive things on because that was where clare fans would have been but the truth is these lads are not good enough and thats that.
cork wonât win an all ireland without at least 4 new players who currently donât appear to be there
You are a awful browl so you are.
Do you think Dublin could win an All Ireland?

So we are back to your FEELINGS again. You want to ask all the questions and answer none because you are so annoyed that someone might not agree with the sheer inevitableness of the advance. you have repeatedly said you donât give a fuck what I think but I donât buy it to be honest. Anyway on to dublin.
Not without two new more athletic players in the middle of the field they wonât. Any pairing that lets a plodder like lorcan mcloughlin walk all over them in an all ireland semi requires change.
Fortunately for dublin they have a decent underage system that has provided a pool of players to select from.
Had they not been reduced to 14 they would have won the semi
Dublin are unlucky maybe in that whilst they are a fine side, i just think there are too many teams about at the moment who could beat them on any given day. In no particular order, cork, limerick, Clare, tipp, kk,Waterford, Wexford, and even Offaly and Galway would not be afraid of them. This doesnât mean that Dublin wonât win, but there arenât any teams beaten before they take the field against them which means they will have to win a series of tough games to win an ai. Hopefully in any case a stroll into the sf for kk is a thing of the past. They got another tough draw this year. Offaly will be a hard battle for a start, then two more potentially tough ones just to get out of Leinster. Offaly first up is a tough draw to get.
Doesnât matter. Aidan walsh is going to throw the boots and hurley into the car on hurling days and push cork over the line
If jbm canât shove them over the line, no one can. Maybe he will. Making that team competitive was manager of the year IMO.

Basically what you are telling us is the only team good enough to win the next few All Irelandâs is Clare.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Improved fitness alone would improve that Cork team. Experience is also a help and Walsh and Sheehan would certainly add a more dynamic element as well as serious ball winning ability.
Clare will probably destroy everyone next year though.
JBM admitted to and has shown some naivety in the last 2 years, so I think the management will improve as well.

And once again, ill-discipline is apparently not a factor when it comes to judging a teamâs performance.
Dublinâs discipline was inferior to Corkâs, they didnât deserve to win off the back of that.

Itâs unbelievable. He is also dismissing half forward ball winng as an important factor when judging Walsh and he HAS to score a rake of scores every game to justify inclusion. A bit like John Conlon, oh hold on? Conlon was shit for most of the year. But you know what I mean.
A more experienced Clare team would have had Cork finished off by half time in both all-Ireland final and replay. Thereâs a lot to be said for Corkâs attitude and resolve but they currently donât have the personnel to consistently perform at this level. If they had managed to stumble over the line this year it would have been down to Clareâs inability to close the game out
Or it would have been Cork better mental attitude? Itâs irrelevant now of course as Clare won fair and square.
Itâs funny to see guys dismiss players giving 100% as a sign of some deficit in skill. Itâs more than stupid.

How did you come up with that now?
The dismissive nature of the comments of Corks ability based on âthey tried very hardâ. The fact is they beat what was put in front of them until they were not good enough to beat Clare. Itâs like the KK and Dublin fans try to devalue Corks wins against them to make them feel better about themselves.
Devaluing Corkâs win doesnât make me feel better about myself.
Itâs not necessarily one or the other you can try very hard and also have the quality of players (Clare). Or you can try very hard and be somewhat lacking in quality players (Cork).
Cork also had the benefit of an excellent manager who had done it all before.
Tactically Clare were smarter than Cork but Cork could still have won. I donât see Clare as miles ahead of the others at all
Interesting to see if Clare get better. Everybody thinks they will but outside Cody and KK nobody has managed to bring same hunger.
Cork need to get much better in the half-backline. The performance they got there in the games with Clare just wasnât good enough. They have at least three top class forwards in Harnedy, Horgan, and Lehane, and a solid midfield in McLoughlin and Kearney. I think itâs from 2-7 where most of their biggest problems are.
