[*]I know most Dubs hate the GGA because of the Ban. That set the tone for everything that has followed

Most dubs? When’s the last time you were in Dublin. It’s a GAA hotbed at present.

Alot of truth in that post. You have summed up the Connacht fan base to a tee.

So do we all agree that GAA are doing a pretty shit marketing job?

Why can there not be more games on a Friday evening and Saturday evening?

Was it ever in doubt? The only thing they truly try to market is the fucking International Rules and it was Coca Cola who pushed that renaissance.

As stated here before, Bord Gais have done a fantastic job with the U21 hurling.
Dan, be fair now. When has there ever been pitch invasions after league games in recent years? No-one hails Limerick or any other set of GAA supporters as the “best fans in the world” as constantly happens with Munster. 16th man, foot soldiers of the red army, to the brave and faithful etc… The Munster final invasion was brilliant was because it was authentic and genuine - a team who have had the shit beaten out of them for years ending a long famine and winning silverware. If Cork had won on the day I’d liked to have seen their fans on the pitch.

The Munster players are highly paid professional athletes. Flogging a few jerseys in Elvery’s and a few cushy after dinner speeches is all part of promoting “the brand”. You’d meet a lot of inter-county lads in your local bank, down the local during the off season, they’d be teaching your kids etc. What irritates me is how these highly paid professional athletes like the Munster lads are heralded as “role models” when what they engage in off the pitch is often a cynical PR exercise. Rugby markets itself very well in fairness and the GAA could definitely learn from them.
Be fair, are you fucking kidding me? When have you ever been fair on this topic? You consistently criticise Munster Rugby for the media spin put on them which is something not of the players making; agree completely that all this shite about the fans is utter utter bollocks but it is top notch branding and has been used by Munster/Irish & ERC to promote the game; very very successfully. It seems to make you very insecure about the GAA to be honest

Icould say the Munster final pitch invasion was drink fuelled bandwagon but I dont try to ram that ignorant and incorrect view down anyones throat.

if you are not aware of the work that the Munster players and management do out in the clubs then just stop talking about the topic. With a few weeks notice Id say pretty much ANY club in Munster could get either players or members of the wider Munster coaching set up out to the club to give coaching sessions. thats a fact. Free gratis, no publicity, no Gerry Thornley no trying to impress anyone. Calling it a cynical PR excercise is just rubbish. Do you really beleive that Paul O’Connell or Brian O’Driscoll are less of an acceptable role model to youngsters than Donal O Grady or Declan Hannon? Come off it.

in the REAL world, outside of the internet the vast vast majority of rugby clubs and GAA clubs co-exist very well together and share training facilties quite often. Most fans follow both sports, as I do. Now just shut up and stick to the promise you made through tears of helpless joy and abandon the night of the munster final!

That’s a clamping.

And thats an epic clamping

thats a knockout blow

There is no doubt that the worst kind of internet warrior can be found on this board. You clearly think you are being funny and cutting edge or whatever it is you are at. Some things are off limits for most people but a small terrified child being taken out into a forest and shot by a nutter is clearly not outside your limits of crass behaviour.

what has this got to do with the GGA being “in decline”

jesus christ…

In actual fact outside of the anti gaa bias of some sections of the more insecure wing of the soccer fraternity and the indo group papers the major sports exist in harmony. Wcb’s commitment to having a go is very entertaining consider how strong the gaa is.
The morons from fai who sang about stcking the gaa up up your arse on the plane to germany in 88 must be seething with impotent rage considering the gaa didn’t oblige by rolling over and fading away

The GAA will never die… It’s the life and soul of this country… What soccer players went out and faced down the brits with soccer balls in the same way us Gaels destroyed them with hurleys??

You are behaving like a scumbag.

why are you always on the attack?

stutt gart 88

A ludicrous claim considering the amount of abuse I receive but in this instance I am attacking you because your posts were humourless and despicable. in the spirit of the board if you don’t like it fuck off.

if you cant handle the truth that’s not our problem, and all the “abuse” you receive is unfortunately of your own making you vile deviant

I’ll be reporting any GAA clubs rumoured to be allowing Rugby Football Clubs to use their facilities to Croke Park. @dancarter, please provide me with names of the clubs in question.
