Given the disorganisation in the Russian ranks I would say probably yes but Ukraine have not so far claimed it.
Let’s wait and see.

The level of hatred amd degradation that wars in Eastern Europe generate is frightening. The Slavic people are definitely wired differently
The Slavs themselves were persecuted by the Nazis. It’s well known that about six million Jews were killed but historians estimate the total number of deaths of other groups to be about 11 million. The victims encompassing Slavs, gay people, priests, gypsies, people with mental or physical disabilities, communists, trade unionists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, anarchists, and Poles.
A bit of copy and paste there, but they’ve had a terrible history of continuous persecution.

The ‘Ukrainians’ were persecuted by russians, ‘Ukrainian jews’, Ukrainian nazis, german nazis etc, they were also divided and conquered with or by these and other players. @carryharry and @Turenne will host a joint online symposium at 7pm, here the more academically minded forumites will have their questions addressed.
