Sleep - a thread to document your sleeping habits

Ill give it a go chief

Would you go for an hour’s walk or something during the day in a park or forest or something? You mightn’t be getting enough fresh air

Yeah thats a good idea. Being stuck in Supermarkets for 12 hours a day for the last 6 weeks didnt help.
Now that you say it, it makes a lot more sense. Going to matches and stuff and being a lot more active during the summer/autumnal months , I had a great sleep pattern.
That’s a dinner box I owe you

Have a shower or bath as hot as you can take it about 30 minutes before bed. Don’t look at any form of a screen with artificial light for at least an hour before that.

Try reading a book for 15 minutes or so if you can’t switch off

Yeah. Two if you’re able

If youre sleeping 6 hours a night youre at levels insomniacs could only dream about. If they ever fall asleep enough to dream. But that unhelpfulness aside, vitamin d ie sunlight to reset your circadian rhythm. Walks, stretching or yoga, breathing exercises in the evening. Off stimulants and sugar. But really, don’t overthink it. I think you’ll kick back into normal soon. The shitty weather and indoorness certainly doesn’t help.

If you want an absolute game changer, blue light blocking glasses, the full on orangey ones. They are dramatically powerful at first.

Other than that, don’t go to bed til you’re tired but dont sleep in to try and over compensate. If that means less sleep temporarily so be it.

Yoga is the devils workout . Empty your mind and body . You have women with new borns going to this and they are supposed to forget their mothers , ignore your child . Real horse shit . As for any bloke doing yoga , it’s just laughable. Would real men like pearse and Connolly be caught doing yoga before their fight in the gpo . No

Pearse transitioned from a warrior 2 to a sun salutation on three rock mountain the morning of the rising and in doing so altered the course of irish history

I haven’t slept in days

If Connolly did a bit more yoga he might not have decked that lad in McGowans.

Reformer pilates is the only exercise anybody over 40 should be doing.

:sunglasses::sunglasses: might be a bit of an issue for most here kid

This is a great post. Quality is better than quantity. If you wake up and can’t sleep then just get up and go do something. Go for a walk or a run or something to stimulate yourself. Fresh air into the lungs. The longer you lie in bed frustrated about not sleeping the worse you’ll feel.

just to clarify, you suggest going for a run at 2 in the morning? get the endorphins going?

Sigh. Where did Mike say he’s lying wide awake at 2am?

I envy lads who can sleep easily. I’m lucky if I get 4 hours a night

Are you doing shift work?
