Motorway now completed between Dublin and Cork. Leix County Council eventually got off their collective fat arses and finished it. Cullahill, Durrah, Abbeyleix; good luck and thanks!
Fantastic news, be home after beating Kerry in september way before the Sunday Game, no stopping off now.
Iâd say on an early morning run you could make it well under 2 hours Cork-Dublin.
My uncle has a restaurant in Durrow so this is bad news for him.
The one in the square? Durrow seems like a nice place, of course i only ever stopped off there. Locals may have a different view.
Heâll have to get some sign-age, and the people of Durrow need to do some marketing, could still be turned into a good stop off spot.
Did Midleton to Sandyford in 2 hours 15 minutes a few weeks ago late at night so will be interested to see how the new road will affect it. Usually do Sandyford to the tunnel in 2.5 hours. Down at a stag in Cork in 2 weeks and travelling back up on the Sunday morning to see the Dubs hammer us so saving half an hour along the way will be most welcome.
Bad break but he would have known it was coming for a long time. Getting some signs up on the motorway advertising good food deals would surely help.
Motorways in UK - proper services stops every 20 miles or so. Did the Irish even consider âstop and reviveâ options for these motorways?
Someone watch this this weekend.
Driving from Dublin to Cork from just outside Dublin where there is an Esso is there a petrol station on the road the whole way to Cork?
Is there on any motorway?
There is a massive gaping hole in the market there.
Nothing of the kind on any motorway as far as I can see.
Youâd need the planning permission alright and how they didnât think of it youâd never know. Probably all the folks from Urlingford or Horse and Jockey saying âyeah, plough on through our land but donât put up any service stationsâ. But great news, I have a raft of meetings up in Dublin over the next while, the time up & down will come way down.
Is it open?
People have been saying it for years that thereâs no service areas on any of the motorways but we were told the NRA knew best. Shower of fcuking eejits, theyâre tacking them on now and in the most stupid of places. Theyâre building one out the N3 I think it is thatâs only about 20 klicks from Dublin, who the fcuk is going to need to stop there? I mean if youâve just left Dublin youâre not going to and if youâre nearing Dublin youâre going to kick on into the city altogether youâre so close. Complete apes, I think Pierse are building them.
Pierse seem to be in bed with the Government (FF), theyâre all over the PPP with the new primary schools being built around Ireland.
there is an esso i think before the staffan exit at the N7 but that is it for the whole journey
the topaz in abbeyleix is what i used to use
it is fâ'ing bizarre why whoever owns the road couldnt have autioned a few spaces to the highest bidder for a gas station and an auld cafe or for Link a bar.
instead we have to pay a tollâŚ
Is there a toll on that Dublin - Cork road now?
Mountrath and Borris are bypassed now on the N7 from today aswell I believe.
At Fermoy/Watergrasshill, depending which way your going.
Durrow always seems like a busy spot regardless of the main road.
So long mountrath.
So itâs pretty much motorway now from Roscrea to Dublin? Then the shitty section from Roscrea to Nenagh and then motor way again until Birdhill. I wonder have they made any progress is laying the road on the âbottomlessâ bog!
There is a toll on the new stretch just opened at Fatharnagh near Portlaoise catching people travelling to Limerick and Cork.
A bad day for the shopkeepers of Mountrath but a great day for everyone else. Including the people of mountrath who must be sick to death of traffic. The motorway to Limerick is nearly there now.
Itâs a right cod that youâre now being tolled on the Limerick road even though the southbound motorway runs out 10k after youâve paid your toll. Fuck that, Iâll be going into Mouthrath for my can of Fanta anyway so Iâm going to go around that sucker until itâs linked up properly. The âŹ1.80 saved would buy a few sweets.
