In fairness Waterford has been well served by private bus operators for years. Kenneallys buses run the Ferrybank to Ballygunner route. Suirway go from the City Centre to Dunmore and Passage while Suir Valley go the other way to Portlaw and Pitown.
Do people in Ballygunner use public transport ?
Schoolchildren and pensioners do yes

So you want those that rely on public transport and who are already hard pressed to fund it? The likes of OAP’s, students and PAYE workers on minimum wage? The less well off funding people better off than them. Do you not see the hypocrisy of complaining about Ireland giving Denis O’Brien sweet deals while wanting the less well off to fund Irish Rail workers’ pay rises?

I wouldn’t call what they’re on as a pittance. Many of the people that will end up footing the bill for their pay rise would be on pittance. Pensioners, students, minimum wage workers.
45k isn’t a pittance for pretty unskilled labour
The living wage should be 50k.
