No Germans, even though they dominated the decade apparently. Neuer for a start anyway, Buffon has been in decline since 2010.

Casemiro made that Real Madrid team really solid. The missing piece in the jigsaw for them becoming so formidable in Europe for the 3 in a row team. Brazil probably would have won the World Cup if he hadn’t missed the Belgium game

Busquets is a much better footballer but couldn’t live with the pace in a lot of big CL games once they stopped having 75% possession in every game. Can’t think of any other options bar those two.
