Spanish Football 2009/2010

Barca 2-0 up after 25 minutes against Villadolid, three live games in a row on sky tonight, Eamonn Dunphy must be in his element

3-0 now, backed overs, ah lovely…

What you make of Ronaldos sending off last night?
I thought he deserved to go myself, swung out twice.

Scored two cracking goals before that though.

I haven’t seen the incident but ClarkeyCat described it to me. I think players should have a ‘free hit’ at anyone who’s pulling their jersey. It really pisses me off when skill players are prevented from doing their thing. If someone has a hold of your shirt then I think they should be fair game for a smack / elbow.

Quality display by Real Madrid so far tonight. Outrageous goal to put them 2-0 up just before half with Guti clean through, drawing the 'keeper and then back heeling it to Benzema to slot in.

Barca won 1-0 at Sporting Gijon earlier and Pedro got the goal. I said a couple of months back that I can see him dislodging Henry on a permanent basis and I still think that’s a distinct possibility as the season progresses.

Yeah, was saying the same myself. Henry has gone to shit since the new season started. Pedro is very quick too, something Henry used to be.

Lovely, lovely goal by Negredo there.

Was watching Revista last night and Graham Hunter said that Barcelona have yet to go behind in a la liga match this season…20 games, if that is true it is some statistic

Good going alright-have only conceded 10 goals too-6 at home and 4 away.
Think the few times they were beaten in the last couple of years in any competition, it has never been by more than one goal too.

David O’Leary is in the studio tonight for the Spanish football on sky  …what the fuck does that spoofer know about spanish football…

Lionel Messi  sublime

“Badge kissing - makes me laugh, makes me cringe, makes me cry…”

Ah, what a goal.

ClarkeyCat just said he’s got great potential, that Messi chap. I agree - he could yet be a very good player.

Gorgeous finish.

Saturday night is Messi night.

Always wondered what Graham Hunter’s job is aside from a few sound bites on Revista… Is he a journo?

He is also living proof that some lads just don’t tan…

Yeah he is a journalist based in Spain, don’t know what paper he writes for but has a monthly column in fourfourtwo about the spanish league and it’s goings on

He’s generally a freelancer I think. Does a bit for Sky, Newstalk the odd newspaper column etc. Can’t believe he does so well out of it because he’s shit and full of bluff but I guess there isn’t much competition. Gerry Armstrong has spotted Kolo Touré on the park a few times already tonight.

Barca are on fire here. Zlatan looking a bit out of sorts but otherwise they’re looking unbelievably good.

This is magnificent. They’re so far better than any team in the world, it’s incredible. Laughing at Gerry and his Kolo Touré stuff here too but I find him a likable sort. I love it when he gets excited and takes over the main commentator role because he’s enjoying it so much, ‘And here come Barca again and Zlatan’s gonna shoot’.

Has Getafe’s “Burger King” been seen any time yet this season?
